Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech) in Aeronautical Engineering is a four-year full-time undergraduate program recognized by
AICTE and offered by the Manipal Academy of Higher Education, Manipal.

The B.Tech program in Aeronautical engineering deals with the design, construction, maintenance, safety and study of the
science behind various aircraft and their components.

For a better learning process, students are exposed to case studies and problem-based learning, brainstorming, written tests,
computer simulation, group discussions, industrial training seminars, technical seminars and projects.

Students are placed in organizations dealing with products and services related to the aerospace industry and software

Eligibility Criteria

Indian Boards -

Pass in 10+2 or equivalent with Physics, Mathematics and English as compulsory subjects along with Chemistry /
Biotechnology / Biology / any technical vocational subject* as optional, from a recognized Board, with minimum 50 %
aggregate marks taken together in Physics, Mathematics and any one of the optional subjects

A level -

Physics, Mathematics and Chemistry / Biotechnology / Biology / Computer Science or any technical vocational subject*
as optional subject in the ‘A’ Levels and English in the ‘AS’ / IGCSE / GCSE

Minimum grade required is an average of ‘D’ grade in Physics, Mathematics and any one of the optional subjects

IB -

English, Physics, Mathematics and Chemistry / Biotechnology / Biology / Computer Science or any technical vocational
subject* as optional subject (preferably Mathematics and Physics at HL level)

MIT hostel rooms are comfortably-furnished and make for a good home away from home. boys has separate blocks and each
block has a fixed capacity. There is a range of accommodation options to choose from, for students’ convenience.In this kind
of accommodation, students have access to TV room, aqua guard for hot, cold and normal drinking water and other
leisure/sports activities within the hostel premises. Also includes the following facilities: 24x7 Wi-Fi connectivity provided in all
hostels CCTV cameras at entrances of all hostels and foyer inside the campus 24x7 electricity and water supply in all the
hostels Night cafeterias up to 1.00 AM Solar panels installed in all hostels for hot water Caretakers and housekeeping services

General Information
About College:

Manipal Institute of Technology, Manipal was established as one of the first self-financing engineering colleges of India in
the year 1957. MANIPAL was formerly known as Manipal Engineering College (MEC) and later on in the year 1974, it was
renamed to Manipal Institute of Technology. It became a constituent institute of the deemed university- Manipal Academy of
Higher Education (MAHE) in the year 2000. MAHE is also known today as Manipal Academy of Higher Education. With its
establishment, MANIPAL was affiliated to Karnataka University. Later on, in 1965, it got affiliated to Mysore University and
then in 1980, it got affiliated to Mangalore University and currently, MIT is affiliated to Visvesvaraya Technological University.

Every year approximately 2000 students are admitted at MIT. The student to teacher ratio of Manipal Institute of Technology
15:1. MIT courses include 17 undergraduate programmes, 26 masters programmes and doctoral programmes. The courses
are offered in the field of Engineering and Science. The research programmes of the institute are supported by various funding
agencies such as CSIR, DST, AICTE and the Ministry of Environmental Sciences.
