ORDER

As per paper read as (1) above, Orders were issued intimating that University will treat the
maximum mark to be scored by a student in a subject as 70% of the maximum marks stipulated in
the concerned regulation, and accordingly, the mark entered by a faculty in the University portal in
a subject will be multiplied with 1.42857 (100/70) so as to obtain the final mark scored by the
student in the subject. It was also stated that duration of examination will be 135 minutes instead of
180 minutes.

As per paper read as (2) above, it was notified that modified examination duration and maximum
mark will be applicable only for regular students and students who undergo course repeat
along with the regular students. In the case of students who attend examination as
supplementary chances, the maximum mark and the duration of examination will be as per their
concerned regulations. The modified maximum mark and time of examination are NOT
APPLICABLE for such supplementary candidates/students.

It was also mentioned in the notification that modified reduced maximum mark and duration of
examination will be applicable for regular and course repeat students only when they attend the
examination in the regular mode. For students who fail in regular examinations, and later register
as supplementary candidates, the time duration of examination and maximum mark will be as per
their original regulation/ordinance. Precisely, the advantages of multiplication of the obtained mark
by 1.42857 and that of the time of examination will be applicable only for regular appearances and
that it will not be applicable in the case of supplementary examination chances of candidates.

Vide reference cited 3 above, sanction has been accorded by the Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, invoking
Section 14(5) of the APJ Abdul Kalam Technological University Act, to follow the same pattern in
the forthcoming Even Semester Examinations to be conducted by the University in the conventional
offline mode (pen and paper mode).

Orders are issued accordingly.
