Reflection #2: Module 1 Lesson 2

1. Does the teacher provide timely feedback when a student performs appropriate/
inappropriate behaviors?
Yes, as what I had observed the teacher provided timely feedback whenever the learner
performed such behavior.

2. Is the teacher consistent with the reinforcement and punishment they are presenting?

Yes, teacher is trying to be consistent with the reinforcement he had presented during and
after the class.

3. Does the reinforcement/punishment coincide with the behavior the teacher is trying
to encourage/discourage?

Yes, as what I had observed with the behavior presented by the teacher. It happened
together whenever the child showed a behavior that deserved to received feedback.

4. What kinds of things you learned through the process of classical and operant
conditioning?

The things that I learned through the process of classical and operant conditioning are, they
both important in learning concepts especially in associating and establishing an
environment that will promotes a positive behavior of the students and for students to learn
new association. Through the process of these two types, I respectively understand that we
really need to acknowledge their differences in order for us to determine which approaches
is best for certain learning situations that may occur.
5. Can you think of an example in your life of how classical conditioning has produced
a positive emotional response, such as happiness or excitement? How about a
negative emotional response, such as fear, anxiety or anger?

Example of positive emotional response that I’d experienced:

My sister is a policewoman, and she came home thrice a month, she offered a deal that
whenever she will come home, I need to clean her room and change all the beddings she
had. In exchange of it she will give me money and will treat me anything that I want. So,
whenever I heard that my sister is coming home that indicate that I need to change the
beddings and clean her room. It always makes me feel excited and happy as well because
of the money and treat that I receive from her.

Example of negative emotional response that I’d experienced:

During my 8th year grade, I have been bullied by my classmates. They locked me to the
comfort room. They brought two frogs and also locked it together with me in the room.
That is one of the reasons why I’m afraid to the frog. As possible I’m trying to avoid the
place where they are found. Going to the rest room makes me anxious thinking that the
frog will be there.
