UPD: The car is gone. I am not going to remember anything, I do not answer questions on this topic.

Everyone who sees this box is surprised every time when I say that there is no electrician in this machine :) The
only wires that fit the box are the starter lock button (it does not give a contact to the starter if P or N is not set).

Curiosity, as always, prompted the disassembly: how does it work? So I comprehended the device by the
autopsy method. There were also strong shocks when switching both up and down, I still wanted to eliminate
them (looking ahead, it was not possible to eliminate them, but they became small and soft and do not strain
anymore).

The box was removed through the bottom, under the wing. One of the problems that caused a lot of
inconvenience was the bell body where the differential was constantly clinging to the subframe, so the box had
to be twisted and pulled out at the same time. Considering its considerable weight, this is not easy.

The bagel was unscrewed by removing the protection from the bottom, and the flywheel was held with a large
screwdriver through the starter seat.

There is no box.

The bagel was taken to the specialists for troubleshooting. I gave 4000 so that they cut it, told me "there is
nothing to break, everything is ok" and welded back: D

I took apart the box at home. If you are thinking, prepare a good head or a torx 27 wrench. I don’t know I tore off
a lot of slots with a torx 25 wrench, and broke off the t27 wrenches, as many of the bolts were holding tight.

The pallet bolts were replaced with hex bolts.

As a result, I took off the valve body, took it apart with a friend in order to take pictures more often (and still the
photo was not enough). Small plates with holes (like jets are called) are everywhere in different ways and holes
of different diameters. As a result, it is difficult to return them to their place without detailed photos, it is even
better to draw a diagram and lay them out according to the diagram.

I analyzed all the transmissions only for the sake of interest, I did not pursue troubleshooting, and I don’t know
how it’s done, but I came to the conclusion that the clutches will still survive.

The first time during assembly, I messed up somewhere, apparently with the clutches hitting the grooves, after
tightening the oil pump, I did not check the rotation and after installing the box on the running engine, it became
clear that the input shaft was jammed. I had to remove the box again and sort it out. The second time was
successful)

Advice: it is better to assemble all drums with gears and an oil pump separately to make sure that all clutches
are in place. We completely loosen the brake band and straighten it, grease it abundantly with ATF and put the
insides in the box. Before and after tightening the oil pump, check that the shafts are spinning.

The oil seals of the drives, the main oil seal for the donut, the gear selector shaft oil seal (selected by size, in
my opinion from Toyota)

I cut out the gasket for the bell from paronite, left the gasket for the pallet old, having lubricated it with a sealant.

And by the way, judging by the splines of all the bolts on the box - I am the first who got into it. The box has
been on the vehicle since production in 1996. 20 years old and she still drives)

I probably don’t remember much now, since most of the actions were six months ago. But if someone has
questions or needs advice, I will try to help.

UPD.1 I adjusted the brake band as follows: we rotate the secondary shaft in the opposite direction (as in
reverse gear), while tightening the adjusting bolt until the shaft is stuck, then slightly loosen the bolt so that the
shaft turns, and tighten the lock nut. If I understand correctly, then the jolts during switching decreased precisely
due to the adjustment of the brake band and the flushing of the valve body from dirt.

In general, I put the valve body, filled in oil, turned it at idle and went
to test. It turned out that the gearbox shifts gears without kicks,
everything is smooth ... but the second gear turned out to be very
long, it switches from 2nd to 3rd about 4 thousand revolutions. A fun

modulator valve (in your photo, the 4th valve on the right), after
assembly of the unit, moves freely when the unit is tilted (you can
hear it hitting), is this a normal situation? All other valves are
preloaded. There is no point in trying different combinations of
springs, probably. Then the other valves will not behave properly.

Maybe the spring is wrong. But others don't fit in diameter.
