inside the electric cabinet (made of 3 wires, 1 phase, 1 neutral and 1 ground) between
the circuit breaker dedicated to Baccara cabinet and FT1 filter located in the cabinet.

Activate the circuit breaker of Baccara cabinet.

Measure voltages present in the input of the electric cabinet on FT1 filter and check
that they are in conformity with the tolerances described in the pre-installation manual.

5.1.2 Visual Checks

Make a strap on PR6 socket corresponding to the emergency switch located on the
front cover of the spot film device.

Check that the light indicator of the Baccara console near the On/Off button is
lighted.

5.3.2 Table Side

While the initialization is in progress, the cassette tray will move backward (parking
position).

The shutters of the spot film device will move wide open.

After several seconds, and if the scattered grid was in parking position, it will move
to its centre position (under the X-ray beam).

Then, at the end of the initialization, the cassette tray will move forward EXIT
position. Ready to load a cassette.

Note: The cassette tray may stay in parking position at the end of the

6 Mechanical Mounting and Connection of

Remaining Components

Warning: Proceed with the chapter below « mechanical safeguarding » before

performing a movement of the table which can cause mechanical damages with
external components.

6.1 Mechanical Safeguarding

6.1.1 Parameters which MUST be Customized

It is necessary to enter the default parameters in the table before capturing the
dimensions of all surrounding components that may cause a risk of collision.

See chapter 8 of the technical manual to enter in Service mode.

The parameters that must be saved are the following:

. 501: height of the room: typical value 3000 mm

Warning: Take into account all components of the ceiling that may cause a
risk of collision between the table and the ceiling (air vent, beam etc.…)

. 502: space on the right side: typical value 2000 mm

. 503: space on the left side: typical value 2000 mm

6.1.2 Parameters statement

Record all parameters in the Technical manual from Group 0 to Group 7 to get a
hard copy of the customer configuration.

Installation Manual Document number : 80-40-004 Rev.B 43/58

6.1.3 Positioning of the Table

Make sure to be in the user mode and not in Service mode.

Tilt the table at about 60°.

Check and tight strongly all fixing screws of the table base.

Continue to tilt the table at +90°.

6.2 Mounting and Wiring of the Image Intensifier

6.2.1 Fastening of the Image Intensifier

Fasten the image intensifier crown with 8 Chc M6x16 screws, (picture 21)

Warning: mount the image intensifier according to the head/feet direction

marked by the label stuck on it.

Remove the camera cover fastened with 2 screws.

Connect the two plugs on the image intensifier (picture 22) by taking care to
position the ferrite on the video cable (black) and to bridle it with a collar.

Warning: bridle the cables of the image intensifier taking into account the
correction of mechanical parallax. Therefore, the image intensifier will move on
head side and on feet side around about 10 cm.

Reassemble the camera cover.

Mount the two half covers of the image intensifier on the bottom of the SFD carriage
(picture 23)

6.3.1 Mounting of the X-Ray Tube

Unpack the X-ray tube, by checking that it is not damaged.

Separate the trunion ring from the X-ray tube housing. (Picture 24),

Fix the trunion ring on the X-Ray tube bracket of the table with the four CHC screws
M6x30. (picture 25),

Warning: Don’t forget to insert the upper X-Ray tube cover bracket
between the trunion ring and the bracket.

Insert the X-Ray tube inside its trunion ring.

Warning: Check that the fastening screws of the trunion ring on the
bracket are not too long and that the X-ray tube rotation in its trunion ring is
easy.

6.3.2 Wiring of the X-Ray Tube

Insert the Anode and Cathode cables into the X-Ray tube housing taking care not to
reverse them, and checking that they are well lubricated and tightened.(Pictures 26 and
27),
Connect the stator made of three cables by respecting the anode impedance:
- A ground cable,
- A cable of thermal switch (2 wires),
- A stator cable (3 wires): Common, main, shift

Knowing that Main-Common impedance is the lowest, Main-Shift is the most

important, and the Common-Shift impedance is the difference between the two.

Install the lower X-ray tube cover bracket and the collimator mounting flange , put
the collimator on its flange by taking care that primary shutters are not damaged and fix
it with the 4 screws in order to centre the collimator on its flange, turn each screw with
the same number of turns (around 6/7 turns).

Connect the PR81 plug at the rear of the collimator powering the collimator light.

Remove the collimator board from the X-ray tube cover and position it in front of
the collimator.
