Ross: What’s your team name?

Participant: Care Bears. Our team couldn’t really agree or decide because we
had so many ideas. I’ll tell you the first one.

“There is profit and I understand it comes at an expense. I’m

excited to alleviate that and reap the benefits of our reward.”

Ross: Alleviate what?

Participant: The expense.

Ross: “There’s profit and I understand it comes at an expense.” It’s not a

match for anything. I don’t get it.

“It’s too expensive.”

“There’s profit and I understand it comes at an expense. I’m excited

to alleviate that.” Alleviate what?

“And reap the benefits of our reward?” You want to reap the
benefits? No, I’m sorry.

What is yours?

Andy: “Yes, it may be too expensive to not consider another option that
may be more rewarding in the long run.”

Ross: Give this man the prize! Say it again.

Andy: “Yes, it may be too expensive to not consider another option8”

And you’re self-pointing, basically. “8that may be more rewarding
in the long run.”

Ross: I like it. I really like it. I love it. “Yes, it may be too expensive8”
You’re using his term. “Not to consider another option that may be
more rewarding in the long run.”

It’s very clever in a lot of ways. His focus is currently completely in

the present. You’re stretching it into the future and you’re putting
your offer into the future, which is great. Fabulous! You get a big
hug from me.

Participant: At the end, can you add “for you” and point to the person?

Ross: You could, but I think it’s perfect. It’s like Mozart. It’s beautifully
done. I couldn’t have done it better myself.

Adam and I were kicking around the idea of doing a monthly

coaching program. I’m not ready yet to do that, but if we did it, we
would have a student of the month and you would win it. This is one
of the best things I’ve heard all weekend. What do you for a living?

Andy: Professor of strategy, school of business.

Ross: This is brilliant.
