C) 100 mm square (or)

d) 75 mm square

(c ) & (d) at the option of the manufacturer

Complete loss of back wall echo and reflection from discontinuity detected along the grid line,
entire surface area of the square and adjacent squares to be scanned.

Grid pattern
Boundary of the indication

Probe movement till the height of back wall echo and discontinuity are equal.

Recording level:

all indications with amplitude equal to or greater than 50% of the initial back reflection and
accompanied by a 50 % loss of back reflection shall be recorded.

Acceptance- Lamination

Total loss of back wall reflection which cannot be contained within a circle, the diameter of
which is 75 mm or ½ T whichever is grater is not acceptable-

Marking:

Accepted plates are to stamped as SA / A 435

Post cleaning:

The surface shall be cleaned off from the couplant to the extent possible.
