Risk of explosion
Fumes can emanate when stove drying vehicle paintwork, which, in the
occurrence of a spark, can be set in fire in an explosive way.
Rules of procedure/measures of safety
The following safety measures are required when insuflating air at tem-
perature >110 °C (corresponding to approximately 80 °C object tempera-
ture inside the vehicle):
- Vehicles, especially with Diesel engine, should not maneuver
in the painting facility with the engine running (Risk of explo-
sion through the glow current bus or spark formation). In Diesel
fueled vehicles fitted with ignition key start-up, the key must
always remain in 0- position.
- Open the fuel tank filling cap. Detach the battery ground lead.
Remove the fire extinguisher, cans holding contents under
pressure and the emergency fuel container from vehicle.
- On liquefied gas fueled vehicles, the gas fuel tanks cannot be
subject to a temperature above 70 °C, therefore, stove drying
of paintwork can only be carried out basically without the gas

- On vehicles with air suspension, the air exhaust cannot be
blocked. Therefore do not enter vehicle in drying stove in the
„Radwechsel position” (wheel change, but yes in ”Fahrt posi-
tion” (driving).
- Vehicles with hydropneumatic suspension: enter the drying
stove in N position (normal level.)
- Vehicles with thermal cargo body: In temperature above 60 °C,
remove the thermal cargo body.
i In an object temperature of up to a max. 60 °C (insuflation air temper-
ature at max. 90 °C) no requirement of special safety measures.
In the case of paintwork repair job carried out by external companies, sup-
ply the company with this information.
