This draft Indian Standard shall be adopted by Bureau of Indian Standards, after the draft
finalized by the Automotive Body, Chassis, Accessories, springs and Suspension Systems
Sectional Committee is approved by the Transport Engineering Division Council.
This Indian Standard has been formulated to lay down the guidelines for fitment of temporary
cabin for transportation of drive-away-chassis configuration of vehicles from premises of
original equipment manufacturers to premises of body builders, in accordance with the rulings
of human rights commission for protection of drivers of such drive-away-chassis vehicles from
inclement weather and climatic conditions.
Formulation of this Indian Standard has been undertaken to harmonize it with AIS 070. In the
formulation of this standard, assistance has been derived from:
AIS 070 Requirements of Temporary Cabin for Drive-Away-Chassis Configuration
Vehicles
In case of any variance between the standard and Central Motor Vehicles Rules, 1989, latter
shall prevail.
For the purpose of deciding whether a particular requirement of this standard is complied with
,the final value, observed or calculated, expressing the result of test or analysis, shall be rounded
