Unit IV : Life Issues / Lesson 2: attitudes

Terminal Objective:
Students will write a newspaper article about people’s attitudes and ethics and express their views about people`s
misbehaviours.
Lexis:

is caused by this:
- My attitude will always be based on how you treat me.

to behave ≠ to misbehave / to believe ≠ to doubt
- A change in behaviour begins with a change in the heart.

1- In this song, the image that has affected me most is that of the woman who has been crying bitterly due to the
blisters on the sole of her feet asking pedestrians for help. However, they pretend they can`t hear her.

2-This shows to what extent indifferent people can be heartless, selfish and careless.

3- To my mind, men's attitude like this has never been exceptional but doesn`t reflect the common reaction of most
people towards poor and needy people.

What should we do to help the poor? (question 4 p.200)

1- Giving them moral support, showing heartfelt humility and respect makes them aware
that someone really does care about them and trying to improve their condition.
2- Support them and let them know that they have something of value which can be used
for meeting their basic requirements.
3- Through the use of Social media and Social Networking, one can raise his or her voice
and create awareness and get a helping hand.
4- We can also buy products online from websites that donate a portion of their proceeds to charity that helps the poor
and needy people.
5- By providing money to the poor and needy people, they can get the essentials of living.
6- Provide nutritious meals to the poor and needy people. Donating groceries can help end the hunger of poor and
needy people.
7- Volunteers can help and teach them. These volunteers can help in arranging free health camps, doctors can be invited
to treat the poor and needy people. Even the smallest efforts count.
