This is how it all got started.
smarpache_71 Sat Oct 03 07:56:00 PDT

Make sure that the FOURTH bulkhead
lines up with the rim of the UPPER
DECK, not the lower one.
smarpache_71 Sat Oct 03 07:55:22 PDT
2009
First attach the lower deck and then
attach the last section of the upper deck.
This will make things easier.
smarpache_71 Sat Oct 03 08:01:44 PDT
2009
This is what it should look like.
Nice round and equally shaped.
If not, your fuselage will end up looking
like a twisted banana! (believe me, I
know. hahaha)
smarpache_71 Sun Oct 04 15:28:19
PDT 2009
Leave an extra attachment flap on the
tips of the elevons.(the white one on the
right)
This you will need to attach the extra
stabilizers to.
smarpache_71 Sun Oct 04 14:36:18 PDT
2009
You will end up with this.
smarpache_71 Sun Oct 04 14:42:39
PDT 2009
Cut away a thin strip (0,5mm) where the
tips of the elevons fit through.
(Make sure you cut the right line)
smarpache_71 Mon Oct 05 12:44:11
PDT 2009
Stick them through, fold them back and
paste them to the inside of the
stabilizers with the fold facing the front.
smarpache_71 Sun Oct 04 15:14:16
PDT 2009
Put glue only on the attachment flaps,
so your stabilizers will stay a little bit
puffy.
You will see what I mean a couple of
pictures further on.
You can attach the wing to the fuselage
now.
smarpache_71 Sun Oct 04 15:06:28
PDT 2009
This will be the stabilizer-strut.
Notice: the top is narrow, the bottom
wide
smarpache_71 Sun Oct 04 15:08:02
PDT 2009
First paste the strut on the small black
dash on the inside of the stabilizer....
smarpache_71 Sun Oct 04 15:08:57
PDT 2009
...than put a drop of glue on the other
end and drop it down.
smarpache_71 Sun Oct 04 15:11:15
PDT 2009
Make sure you get the stabilizers
exactly vertical!
smarpache_71 Sun Oct 04 15:14:56
PDT 2009
This is what I meant by puffy!
smarpache_71 Sun Oct 04 15:32:55

These are the parts L1 and R1 of the
shuttle attachmentparts.(file: sca4x)
Use a 2mm round toothpick in order to
shape this part.
(make sure it does not get attached to
the stick, you will have to remove it
later!)
smarpache_71 Sat Oct 03 08:52:16
PDT 2009
This is what parts L2 and R2 should
look like.(wing shaped)
If you look at the shadow, you will see
the small part at the bottom sticking out
a little.
(I have removed the toothpick just for
show, you should leave it in)
smarpache_71 Sat Oct 03 08:53:06
PDT 2009
Again if you look at the shadow you will
see that the bottom of these parts is at
an angle and they should line up.
smarpache_71 Sat Oct 03 08:27:42
PDT 2009
First punch a hole in parts L3 and R3
before cutting them out.
Use the same 2mm round toothpick.
smarpache_71 Sun Oct 04 15:36:52
PDT 2009
This is why you had to leave the
toothpick in.
It will make it easier to hold and put
other parts on.
smarpache_71 Sat Oct 03 09:02:55
PDT 2009
Before cutting out parts L4/R4 it is
better to first fold them, or else it will be
to small to handle.
This basically goes for all the small
parts. (tip)
smarpache_71 Sat Oct 03 08:45:19
PDT 2009
L1/L2/L3/L4 all stacked-up.
Time to remove the toothpick.
smarpache_71 Sat Oct 03 08:56:00
PDT 2009
Parts L5/R5 are also shaped around a
2mm toothpick.
(again, do not attach them to the stick)
smarpache_71 Sat Oct 03 09:45:36
PDT 2009
Take the toothpick out and attach the
parts to the fuselage.
smarpache_71 Mon Oct 05 13:25:16
PDT 2009
This will be the core of the left and right
supports of the shuttle attachmentpart.
Shaped around the wire of a small
paperclip.
smarpache_71 Mon Oct 05 13:28:37
PDT 2009
This is what the supports should look
like with the second part shaped like a
wing around the core.
(yes, it is THAT small! hahaha)
smarpache_71 Mon Oct 05 12:47:31
PDT 2009
This is the complete construction with
the two supports in the middle.

smarpache_71 Sat Oct 03 09:12:19
PDT 2009
This will be the top of the forward
shuttle attachment.
smarpache_71 Sat Oct 03 09:15:16

The tubes of this construction are
also shaped around the wire of a
small paperclip.

smarpache_71 Sat Oct 03 09:23:21
PDT 2009
I have made a small cut in the
shuttle fuselage just behind the
cockpit to improve its shape and for
a better fit.
smarpache_71 Sat Oct 03 09:24:39

Halfway done.

Done!
smarpache_71 Sat Oct 03 15:02:12

This is the spot where the front of
the shuttle must be attached to the
SCA.
smarpache_71 Sat Oct 03
15:05:25 PDT 2009
These are the spots where the rear
of the shuttle must be attached to
the SCA.(small black dots)
I have later colored the white areas
black with a marker.
Thank you!
