COMPANY BACKGROUND

1. This company ‘ADHUNIK THERMAL ENERGY LIMITED’ was created and incorporated as per
Companies Act 1956 on 03.05.2005 with an objective of setting of 1080 MW Thermal Power Plant
in the state of Jharkhand.
2. The name of the company was changed to ‘NEEPAZ THERMAL ENERGY LIMITED’ on 23.10.2007.
3. Again the name of the company was changed to ‘ADHUNIK POWER AND NATURAL RESOURCES
LIMITED’ (APNRL) on 18.02.2008.
4. APNRL entered into MoU with the Government of Jharkhand to set up a 1080 MW coal-based
Thermal Power Plant in 31.10.2005 in 2 Stage

5. Land acquisition was started on July 2007 and the first land was registered in Padampur in January
2008
6. Water of 35.5 MCM allocation was given to us by Govt. of Jharkhand on 29.08.2008
7. Coal Block named as ‘Ganeshpur Coal Block’ was allocated to us by Ministry of coal in 50:50 joint
venture with Tata Steel Limited on 28.05.2009. Later on JV signed with lead partner Tata Steel on
30.05.2009 to make the mines operation and further modus-operandi to run the business
8. About 24 Acres land were purchased in the Ganeshpur to start the activity but the said mines got
cancelled by Supreme Court of India on 24 Sept’2014.
9. Coal were arranged till the mines got operational through Linkage singed with Coal India Limited
for Unit-1 on 22 July 2011 and for Unit-2 on 29 Sept’2011
10. This linkage got expired on 31 July 2016
11. BTG contract was given to BHEL (Bharat Heavy Electrical Limited) on 05.02.2009 for unit-1 and on
30.07.2009 for Unit-2
12. All BOP contract were given to reputed vendor like ABB, Siemens, Macawber Beekay, GACTEL,
NCCL and GDCL etc.

13. COD - Phase I (1x270 MW) on January 21, 2013 and COD - Phase II (1x270 MW) on May 19, 2013
14. The available saleable capacity is tied up through LTPPA’s as on date, as follows:
a. 123 MW - Jharkhand State Electricity Board (JSEB) on 28th September 2012 valid up to 20th
January 2038
b. 66 MW - Jharkhand State Electricity Board (JSEB) on 06th November 2017 valid up to 20th
January 2038
c. 100 MW - West Bengal State Electricity Distribution Company (WBSEDCL) through PTC on
25 March’2011 valid up to 07th July 2038
d. 100 MW - Tamil Nadu Generation and Distribution Company (TANGEDCO) through PTC on
19 December’2013 valid up to 30th September 2028
e. Balance available capacity is periodically tied up through IEX/Mid Term/Short Term

15. FUEL ARRANGEMENT


a. There is annual fuel tie up of 12.926 lakhs Mt through Fuel supply agreement with Central
Coalfield of India under SHAKTI scheme against PPA of JBVNL 188.85 & TANGEDCO
100MW.
b. Under the guidelines of Ministry of Coal, the balance annual quantity is purchased from
Coal India Limited under Forward E- Auction and Special Forward E- Auction which is being
done regularly.
A minor quantity of market coal is also purchased to feed the quantity requirement.

16. Benefits to the State of Jharkhand


a. By virtue of Shakti Linkage coal we are giving discount on tariff to Rs.0.03/Kwh to JBVNL,
the total benefits to the State of Jharkhand

e. Socio-economic development of the state.
17. The Company strongly believe in CSR and dedicated towards up lift of the nearby villages and their
resident.
a. Education – The company is supporting to the student of nearby villages towards their
education by the way facilitating them with healthy environment, school buildings etc
b. Amrit Dhara Project – Water filter plant is set-up by the company in association with BDO
Gamharia and dedicated to the society
c. Project Cyber Village – To make self-dependent to the student of the nearby villages
dedicated computer education center has been set-up by the company
d. Women Empowerment – The Company is facilitating women of the nearby villages to learn
the know-how of making phenyl, Agarbati, soaps, vermin compost etc
e. Regular Health Camp is organized by Company
f. Free Treatment at OHC
g. Free Ambulance Services
h. Free School Bus for student for going to collage
i. Sanitation – Dedicated toilet and bathroom were made almost in every family of the village
Padampur, Srirampur and Badahariharpur
j. 105 Hand pump were given to the villagers upon their requirement.

18. Public Railway Siding at Plant end is Birirajpur 100 meter adjacent to our CHP.Dedicated
Residential colony named as Mahadeo Puram having 23 unit of individual house under R & R
scheme
