stakeholder analysis

Question # 01 - Who are the stakeholders in this case?

The following are the stakeholders in this case:

1. Residents of the Redville 2. City Mayor and City manager 3. City Council 4. Planning Staff

and development staff of the City 5. Project management Team 6. Project Manager 7. Project

Management expert consultant firm.

Question # 02 - What steps were performed by the project team to analyse stakeholders?

Following Steps are performed by project team to analyze stakeholders:

1. Identify the city’s mall development goals and strategies.

2. Identify relevant decision-makers for each development goal.

3. Identify effects on the community of achieving goals.

4. Identify all groups and individuals with a stake in the project.

5. Prioritize stakeholders.

6. Analyze high-priority stakeholders to begin to develop strategies for working with them.

Question # 03 - What questions in this case were suggested to brainstorm to identify

stakeholders?

Following questions were suggested for brainstorming to identify stakeholders:

a. Who would benefit if the project goals are achieved for the project?

b. Who would be hurt, or might believe that they could be hurt, by the project?

c. Who could shape public opinion about the project, even if it might not directly affect them?

d. Who has the authority to make decisions affecting the program?

Question # 04 - Why is it important to prioritize stakeholders? Who are the high-priority

stakeholders in this case?

Practical restrains on time and resources usually make it infeasible to develop strategies for working

with all stakeholders in a community, so it is necessary to set some priorities. High Priority Stakeholders

are:

1. City mayor and City manager.

2. Community at-large

Question # 05 - What is the purpose of formulating outreach strategy for each high-priority

stakeholder?

The purpose of formulating an outreach strategy for each high-priority stakeholder is that first you

are defining objectives for each priority stake holder that are attainable and for attaining that

outreach strategies are eminent for achieving those specific objectives. As the high priority

stakeholders are very much involved in the project and need information all the time on project

progress and outcome of each stage. And in this case the community leaders need public support in

elections and community residents’ needs solution to their problems and feel to be valued by being a

part of decision making process in this project. While doing all of these things, this will also help

keep the good vibes going and help get the project done in a timely manner.
