Có rất nhiều idiom khác liên quan đến nóng giận, có thể kể đến một số phổ biến như là: 

- up in arms: angry or upset

People are up in arms over plans to close the local swimming pool.

- make one’s blood boil: làm máu ai sôi lên, khiến họ vô cùng tức giận

It still makes my blood boil to think of all the time we wasted on this. 

- hit the ceiling/roof: to become extremely angry

SYN: go through the roof 

Dad'll hit the ceiling when he finds out I've left school.

- lose your temper/cool: to get angry

She never lost her temper, never raised her voice.

- fly into a rage/passion: to suddenly become very angry

I never saw him fly into a rage or treat anyone cruelly.

- go off the deep end: to get very angry about something or lose control of yourself

Tom will go off the deep end if Jerry can't pay him the money he owes. 

- set sb's teeth on edge: to annoy you very much (especially a noise) 

That DJ's voice really sets my teeth on edge.  

- have/throw a tantrum: have a sudden period of extreme anger ~ nổi cơn tam bành, thịnh nộ

When he doesn't get his way, he throws a tantrum.

- have a face like thunder (also look like thunder): to look extremely angry ~ nổi trận lôi đình

She suddenly came into the room with a face like thunder.

- bite someone’s head off: to speak to someone angrily when there is no reason to ~ nổi giận vô cớ

I just asked if I could help – you don’t have to bite my head off! 

- drive sb up the wall: to make someone extremely angry ~ drive sb round the bend

My flat-mate is driving me up the wall.


SYN: drive somebody crazy 

- blow one’s top: to become very angry, often quickly 

Oh man, Dad is going to blow his top when he sees that I wrecked his car!  

- fly off the handle: to react in a very angry way to sth that sb says or does ~ dễ nổi cáu  

He's extremely irritable - he flies off the handle at the slightest thing.

A. make a fuss (over/of sth): pay a lot of attention to sb/sth, showing concern, affection, etc. for sb/sth ~

them: quấn quýt, xúm vào ai, quan tâm nhiều đến họ (cho thấy mình thích họ)

 find fault with sth/sb: look for mistakes and complain about them~tìm lỗi, bắt bẻ nhau nè

Danh từ chỉ  những người “quan tâm thái quá 1 vấn đề nào đó, cho dù nó không quan trọng” là

B. argue over sth ~ tranh cãi về 1 chủ đề gì đó

Mở rộng về cãi nhau nhé:

 have a quarrel/argument about/over sth (with sb): cãi cọ, tranh cãi về việc gì

 quarrel with sth: (không phải cãi nhau nhé) ~ bắt bẻ, phàn nàn, nghĩ cái gì là sai

Tính từ miêu tả mấy bọn hay cãi nhau là: quarrelsome (adj) hoặc argumentative (adj)

 get into an argument with sb: tranh cãi, tranh luận với ai

 pick a fight/quarrel/argument: to start a fight/quarrel/argument with someone ~ kiếm chuyện cãi

 unfeeling: not feeling sympathy for other people's suffering: không cảm thấy xót thương, vô tâm

Phân biệt với idiom sau:


- be part of the furniture: st hor sb so familiar that you no longer notice it, him, or her
Ví dụ như nếu có lớp có học sinh mới thì họ sẽ được chú ý nhiều lúc đầu, nhưng sau khi đã quen biết nhau
thì họ sẽ trở nên bình thường lại, hay họ “is part of the furniture”

- be scrutinized closely: bị soi xét từng li từng tí một 

- celebrity: người nổi tiếng 

- regard sb/sth AS sb/sth = consider sb/sth sb/sth: coi ai/cái gì như là ... 

=>> Bị soi đời sống cá nhân chính là phần không thể thiếu (phần mà mình phải chấp nhận) trong việc làm
người nổi tiếng

- grow on sb: if somebody/something grows on you, you start to like them or it more and more 

I wasn't sure about this album when I bought it, but it's really grown on me.
