02. Culture web in Emjay International PVT LTD

Johnson and Scholes identified six distinct but interrelated elements which contribute to what
they called the “paradigm”, equivalent to the pattern of the work environment, or the values
of the organization.

They suggested that each may be examined and analysed individually to gain a clearer picture
of the wider cultural issues of an organization. The six contributing elements are,

1. Routine & Rituals

This refers to the daily actions and behaviors of individuals within the organization.
Behaviors what is expected of employees on a daily basis and what is directly or indirectly
approved by those in management positions. It also questions what employees expect when
they arrive each day. And what experience do customers expect from the company? Like
things.

Emjay International PVT LTD in terms of routine, the average worker needs to work about 9
hours a day. Then the working leg is created. It is open from 7.30 am to 5.30 pm. Machine-
operated workers should come to work in comfortable attire and office staff should come in
office attire. On Saturdays there is an opportunity for the least suitable person to attend. Also
in the morning the institutions start the day's activities after singing the song.

Then talk about rituals, which include what they do even if they do not do it every day. Looks
like you can wear a casual dress on Friday. Also, due to the current epidemic situation, staff
members are allowed to wear casual clothes on a daily basis. Emjay International PVT LTD
creates ample opportunities for its team members to interact with each other through 5s
Kaizen competitions, talent shows, sports competitions, various established clubs and
associations.

In addition, the Emjay International PVT LTD Inter-Departmental Cricket Tournament hosts
the Department's Annual Dinner. They also run a tongue care center near the institution for
the children of employees.

Emjay International PVT LTD's commitment to implementing the best HR practices is

further highlighted in its efforts to provide benefits to the children of its team members,
including the awarding of benefits to the children of employees who have excelled in the
Grade 5 Scholarship Examination, Advanced Level Examination and Nationally.

The low labor turnover rate relative to the industry, high level of employment and healthy
industry relationships demonstrate our commitment to developing and nurturing our team
members.

4. Control system

These are the systems and routes that govern this organization. This can lead to many things,
including management, quality control structures based on individual performance. The
question here is how the company measures the performance of the employee. What about
labor relations? How does the company punish its employees? How do they handle
grievances? What about disciplinary matinees? What about the prize and promotion
procedure? How do they share information (if there is an application or system or MIS
system?) And how do they control their output? Like things

Emjay Penguin They measure employee performance using monthly performance

appraisal methods, which usually use wins against goals. Promotional expectations are also
linked to performance. Prizes also have something to do with team performance. They have
not started giving away prizes related to individual performance. However, they do support
the development of their staff. They had a very strong training team. Further, promotion
criteria are based on performance appraisals and academic qualifications.

Emjay Penguin greatly encourages career and personal development as well as

training and development focused on team activities, through a series of programs including
executive skills development programs and mentoring and mentoring. In addition, a unique
program aimed at developing leaders at all levels has been launched. This initiative
contributes to the grassroots level of the organization and supports the development of team
members' leadership and professional skills.

We also work with suppliers and service providers for certain day-to-day operations.
Obtains labor from outsourced service providers. And has a friendly work environment
within the organization. They have a good work relationship with each other. It also provides
a cooler working environment for employees with more infrastructure and benefits. They also
motivate and retain employees with them and develop a good culture within the organization.
And with Emjay Penguin's vacation, the pay was very attractive and has a good reputation
and a good working culture. Because of that there is a legal turnover.
Then about the Code of Discipline, every employee of the organization is the Code of
Ethics. If the employee violates it, he is punished according to the rules specified by the
organization. Also, according to the code of conduct of the organization, relevant
investigations are carried out and punishments are given. They do things like explanations,
transfers and termination as punishment. They also listen to employees' requests and consider
commonalities. Also, there is a specific person in the Human Resources Department to
handle misery.

And when Emjay Penguin exchanges information, they often share their information
via internal mail. There is an app for staff members to share knowledge. They also use an
internal information system for their calls. It is the main information system that uses all the
functions they perform in the organization. Various training platforms that provide a
continuous learning experience for their team members. For example, programs are
implemented through the Human Resource Management Division to help employees improve
their knowledge and experience.

5. Power structure

These are the real power structures and responsible people in the organization. It can refer to
several executives, the CEO, board members or the entire management department. These
people are the ones who have the biggest influence on decisions and usually have them.

Final statement on major actions or changes. Who is in power in the organization? Who
makes the decisions for the company? What are the beliefs and culture of those at the top of
the business? How is power used in an organization? Do employees have similar
opportunities?

The company is owned by Malik Samarawickrema and Jeremy John. It grows in 4 branches
island-wide.

Emjay Penguin also creates similar opportunities for team members to interact with each
other through quizzes, talent shows, sports competitions, and various other clubs and
associations. Various other clubs and societies established by the institute. Because they
believe it will fulfill their desire to work for the community in which they live as responsive

The branch network also has the power to measure the job rotation of team members. The

assessed and monitored for business needs. With this initiative, team members are exposed to
different areas of operation within the branch, thereby mastering a wide range of arts and

03. Strengths and weaknesses in Emjay International & Penguin Sportswear
(Pvt) Ltd Culture

Strengths

The greatest strength comes from the guidance and guidance received from the Board of
Directors. Also, they have strong staff members who have largely started their careers with
Emjay, and as soon as their schooling is over they have been slowly building up their skills
and expertise.

And there is a more-friendly work environment, which is how the culture is created, so the
turnover is lower because employees like to work here.

They have been training since day one and these new training methods have come a long way
towards their success. Provides team members the opportunity to gain knowledge and skills
to develop individually and professionally. As the organization moves forward rapidly, team
members have multiple skills as a preparation tool.

Also, emjay helps maintain good employee relationships, reduce workplace conflicts, boost
staff morale and increase overall productivity. Therefore, to stay in touch with all their
employees, they encourage two-way communication across all levels. It is a good strength in
the organization.

Weaknesses

Furthermore, the corporate culture of emjay is somewhat backward and patriarchal, with new
female recruits harassing and unnecessarily harassing senior male officers, and complaints
from female executives often fall on deaf ears.
And the work-life balance here is very difficult. This is because the employee has to dedicate
and dedicate more time to his working life. Because the employee's mind is under a lot of
stress.

The company has a heavy workload, and sometimes this is really stressful for employees.
Maybe at the end of the month the employees have done a lot more work.

Employees have a set time to go and have lunch, and sometimes employees often miss lunch
due to overwork or congestion. As a result, the employee's health problems and stress
increase.

The culture of the emjay company is that there are fewer opportunities for professional
growth. Because there is only job rotation. No other training or development is provided.
04. Recommendations

I recommend that all new recruiters to be given a better and efficient orientation as well as
effective socialization programs. They will then have a better understanding of the work
environment, culture, existing management and senior employees and therefore they can
perform their job well without less intervention or assistance.

Employees can facilitate a balance between work life and the personal life of themselves.
Therefore, the stress of the employees will also be reduced and they will try and commit their
best to deliver the best.

Employees should be recruited and trained as well, to share the assigned work without
interruption and continue on achieving common goals.

Also, employees should be given opportunities for their professional growth, Emjay should
provide their employees with promotion procedures, good training and development for their
growth. Communication and proper consideration should be given to this cause to achieve
effectiveness.
