( END OF DIAPHRAGM ) ( END OF DIAPHRAGM ) 1991 INTERIM SPECIFICATIONS.

2. LOADINGS:
LIVE LOAD = MS18 (H20-44)
DEAD LOAD (CONCRETE) = 23.56 KN/m3
1.05 KPa OF ROADWAY INCLUDED FOR FUTURE WEARING SURFACE.
SEISMIC LOAD - SHALL BE IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE 1991 AASHTO (INTERIM) SPECIFICATIONS FOR
SEISMIC DESIGN OF HIGHWAY BRIDGES. SEISMIC LOAD SHALL NOT BE LESS THAN 10% (DL + 0.50LL).

GENERAL ELEVATION LENGTH OF 16.00M. SHALL BE DRIVEN ONE AT ABUTMENT A AND THE OTHER AT ABUTMENT B AT LOCATION
LOCATION TO BE DESIGNATED BY THE ENGINEER AND SHALL FORM PART OF THE PILE FOUNDATION. THE
SCALE 1:100M TEST PILE SHALL BE DRIVEN TO A REQUIRED MINIMUM BEARING CAPACITY OF 400KN. THE TEST PILE SHALL
BE PROVIDED WITH METAL SHOE FOR HARD DRIVING.
8. PRIOR TO THE DRIVING OF THE VERIFICATION PILE/ FIRST REGULAR PILE OF THE ABUTMENT/PIERS, THE
CHIEF, PLANNING AND DESIGN SECTION OR ITS AUTHORIZED REPRESENTATIVE SHOULD BE NOTIFIED TO
WITNESS THE PILE DRIVING FOR EVALUATION / ANALYSIS IN CONJUNCTION WITH THE AVAILABLE SUBSOIL
INFORMATION.
9. APPROACHES: THE FILL / EMBANKMENT AT THE JUNCTION OF THE ABUTMENT, WINGWALL AND ROAD

THOROUGHLY COMPACTED." BORROW ESTIMATED TO COVER SUFFICIENT LENGTH OF APPROACHES TO
MAKE BRIDGE PASSABLE. GRADE LINES AT APPROACHES TO BE DETERMINED BY THE ENGINEER BUT NOT
