Medcomic: The Most Entertaining

Way To Study Medicine
Medcomic channels the creativity of cartoons into the field of medicine to make learning medical
concepts entertaining and fun. Studying medicine can be tedious and it's often difficult to
remember the vast amounts of information required to pass tests and recertification exams. One of
the most frustrating feelings in the world is staring at a question during an exam, and
not quite being able to recall the answer.  "I just studied this!" you say to yourself, but the
details of the memory just aren't clear enough. Medcomic solves this migraine problem by
combining high quality art and humor to make memorizing medical concepts easy and fun.
You'll be so entertained it'll feel like you're procrastinating, but you'll actually
be gaining and retaining medical knowledge! Medcomic has been adopted by university professors
all around the world in an effort to engage students and eliminate classroom cases of SIHB (Sleep
Induced Head Bobbing).  Medcomic: The Most Entertaining Way to Study Medicine is a useful
supplement to review for the United States Medical Licensing Examination (USMLE), Physician
Assistant National Certifying Examination (PANCE), and National Council Licensure Examination
(NCLEX), and many other board exams in the health care field. Medcomic is written and illustrated
by Jorge Muniz, a board-certified internal medicine PA. His cartoons are utilized by university
professors all around the world to engage students in the classroom and provide an innovative
alternative to conventional educational materials.

Perhaps I was expecting too much. I'm currently in medical school and thought Medcomic would be
more on the level of sketchy micro/pharm. However, the information depicted in these cartoons fell
far short of what I was expecting. I'm sure it can be helpful to some. Perhaps a description regarding
the targeted audience of the book would be helpful.

Used this to help me study for the PANCE as a supplemental material. The funny comics helped
certain topics stick better in my head and help me remember them. Great artwork and funny comics!

This book is SO helpful and creative. Currently, I work in dermatology, but it is important for me to
stay up to date in all fields of medicine in order to pass my re-certification boards. The illustrations in
MedComic allow me to easily recall the detailed information on diseases that I would have otherwise
forgotten. The book does a great job of including valuable depictions of conditions seen general
medicine and diverse specialties. It makes difficult things to memorize, like the brachial plexus,
much simpler to master. I am excited for more from this talented author/illustrator!

AMAZING study guide! These cartoons were extremely helpful for me when studying for my PA
exams and boards. Instead of reading over text at least 5 times in hopes of remembering disease
presentations and first/second line treatments etc, I could view a cartoon just twice and have the
image planted in my memory for retrieval during an exam! Definitely one of the most effective ways
to study medicine.

So fun! I really like how fresh the illustrations make all the information fun to learn. I found myself
immediately trying to read it all as soon as possible to see all the inventive ways the information is
tied to the drawings. It works great to break up the monotony of medical text books that you're
constantly try to cram into your head. Hope to see more to come in the future.

I in PA school and saw the comics online and loved it! I really like the comics because I am a visual
learner. The only negative I have about this book is there aren't enough comics for the price. I
thought I was buying a more comprehensive book that would help with studying for clinical and
PANCE. I was very excited about getting this book but when I opened it and saw that were few
comics, I was disappointed. Initially, I was torn between this book and Ultimate Mnemonic Medical
Comic Book and chose this one. I LOVE my Pance Prep Pearls book and was hoping this would be
similar but in comic form, but it is not. But it is good as a very short review and most of the comics
are online for free. Just wish it had more comics for the price.

I'm a visual learner and this book has been an amazing resource to have throughout PA school!
Quite a few of my classmates as well as some friends in med school have asked about the book
and have also learned a great deal from Jorge's illustrations. Difficult topics taught in school, such
as heart blocks, were broken down and illustrated in a way that I'm able to recall on all my exams.
I'm looking forward to seeing more illustrations! Follow him on Instagram @Medcomic for some
more awesome illustrations!!
