COMMUNITY CENTRE FOR MUSIC

Abstract

Music has been with me ever since I can remember. As a student of architecture, and

musical theory, there has always been an interest of designing something that integrated

music with architecture. There’s always been a question if spaces could be created by the

organizational patterns found in music. There are numerous similarities in music and

architecture. Also, there is a need of a space where music can be taught, allowing one to

create music, and for musicians and enthusiasts to come together.

Introduction

The centre for music and theatrics is such space, which integrates learning, and

interacting with various artists across places, and to collaborate and create music. There are

always musicians who are very deeply into music, but cannot afford studio time sue to

various reasons. They do not get the chance to be discovered. Most often, It is because they

simply lack resources and space for them to focus on their music, without any disturbances.

Thus, this thesis is an attempt to create the opputunities of recording and performing, and

provide services at low cost.

Aim

India has always been a host for diverse music. And there are various raw and

independent artists emerging recently. Main aim is to provide a space that solely encourages

them to record and grow in their unique style of music. Also, to make an interactive space

that brings Seniors and the new budding talent at one platform to exchange their ideas of

creation and to bring the exposure an artist would need.

Objectives

students and enthusiasts come together and exchange their knowledge. Also, to create a space

of peace for musicians to find their true potential. This centre shall be the space that shall

give any musician a head start to their musical career.

Scope

There is a scope of creating an informal learning space for musicians. There is a

tremendous scope of creating a single destiny for all the music enthusiasts, and musicians of

all age groups. Also, there is a scope of providing the resource that a person requires to grow

as a musician.

Limitations

Budget and structures shall be a limitation to this thesis.

Need of the project

Independent artist in the field of Music face many challenges, and has a constant

competition of Music industry dedicated for films. Not all the time do independent artists get

the opportunity to showcase their real worth, other than crowd pleasing. And also, they do not

get opportunity to record and work on their ideas. They also lack the opportunity to interact

and collaborate with each other, as they lack a space that helps them dedicate their time into
