Chapter 1 Introduction
The system is used for System Administration Station of the Customs to manage
system roles, users, resource group, resources, browse and search statistic data, and
management log.
There are large numbers of users for the System. Every user has different access
privileges to different resources. For example, some users can enter into pre- check-in
interface, some can enter into check-in, and others can enter into image inspection. If
the system administrator defines the roles for each user one by one, it is hard to
imagine the workload for doing so. System Administration Station provides
management based on role, which largely reduces the burden of the administrator.
The main interface of System Administration Station is shown as the following figure
2-1.

Area at the left side displays a function list of SAS, which includes management of
roles, resource groups, users and resources, browsing MDST file system, browsing
and searching statistic data and reports, and management of log files.
Area in the middle displays an information list including all roles, resource groups,
users, and resources in the system. For browsing MDST file system and browsing and
searching of statistic data and report, and management of log files functions, the area
in the middle will be hided.
Area at the right side displays a list of detailed information. To different functions,
the content displayed in the list of detailed information will not be the same.

The middle area displays information of all roles of each station of the system.
The upper part of the right area displays user list contained in a selected role. The
lower part displays resource group and privilege list contained in a selected role.

The upper part on the right side displays detailed information of the selected resource
group. The lower part displays the resource list contained in the selected resource

The middle area displays information of all the resources of each station of the
system.
The upper part at the right side displays detailed descriptive information of the
selected resource. The lower part displays the list of resource groups, to which the
selected resource belongs.
Every day, before working, inspectors shall first power on and start all devices,
including:

button to cancel the operation.

3. Operator inputs “Resource Group ID”, “Description of Resource Group” as
criteria to search in “criteria for searching resource group” area, and clicks
“Search” button.
5. Operator selects the resource group, which he hopes to add to the selected
role. Operator can use “Ctrl” key or “Shift” key to make multiple choices.
Click “Select” button, and the selected resource groups will be added to
“Input resource group ID” area.
6. Operator can also directly input resource group ID that he wants to add to the
selected role in “input resource group ID” area. Use comma to separate
between resource-group IDs. Note: resource group ID must be legal and exist
in the system, otherwise the system will prompt error message.
7. Operator selects the privileges, which he hopes to add to the selected role.
8. Operator clicks “Add” button to add the resource groups and privileges to the
selected role.
9. Operator can select another role. Repeat steps 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 and 8 to add the

of “detailed information list”, it displays the property information of the
resource group. In the lower part of “detailed information list”, it displays
resources contained in this resource group.

Select a role indicates means adding the user to the role. Only when a user is given a

granting for all other websites shall be done here. The main roles and their function

The operator can only try to change password for three times. If failed three
times, the system will automatically exit from “Change Password” dialogue box.
