Developing Proposal And Thesis

So the thesis proposal is composed of two words: proposal and thesis. Proposal
according to English is to submit or can also be interpreted as a request. Meanwhile, thesis is
the final task that must be completed in order for students to get a bachelor's degree.

Then the thesis proposal is a draft that contains chapters 1 to 3 thesis, arranged in a
structured manner and used as a request to continue thesis research until the end.

Taken from fst.unair.ac.id, the thesis proposal is a thesis planning blueprint that
reveals the principal and methodology, as well as the flow of thought used to compile the
thesis. This thesis proposal is interpreted as the initial stage of thesis completion.

Purposes of writing thesis proposal:

Training the ability of students in bringing up problems and points of mind used to conduct
scientific research (thesis). so that students are able to formulate the problem solving they
research.

When writing a thesis proposal, you must use valid and accountable data. The
arguments that are structured must also be demanding and reasonable. So you can convince
the examiner lecturer that your thesis research design is indeed important.

Indirectly, it can be said that the thesis proposal presents the problem to be examined.
You have to prove that the object of research is needed. In addition, you must provide logical
reasons and a clear methodology. All that is done so that you can persuasion the examiner
lecturer if your research does have urgency.

Well, just like other scientific papers, thesis proposals have their own writing
structure and provisions. When writing thesis proposals, you must follow these terms, so you
should not write carelessly. Moreover, you ignore the existing rules. You may not even pass
the proposal seminar.
Thesis Proposal Structure
Generally thesis proposals have a writing structure as below:
1. Name or title of proposal.
2. Introduction.
3. Table of contents.
4. Chapter 1 : background, purpose, problem formulation, research benefits, or usually
there are also problem limitations.
5. Chapter 2: study/foundation of theory, previous research, frame of mind, hypothesis.
6. Chapter 3: research methods used, data collection techniques, sample and population
determination techniques, data analysis techniques, and so on.
7. Conclusion
8. Bibliography

How to Draft Thesis Proposals Based on Their Structure

So how do you prepare a thesis proposal? You can follow these steps. When drafting a
thesis proposal, don't forget the structure that must be in it.

1. Title page
The first page in the thesis proposal: the title. The first step in drafting a
scripted proposal is to create a title page. This page is the first to be read by the
reader.

So you have to make the title as interesting as possible without ignoring the
substance, yes. Usually the title page contains the title, author's name, faculty name,
college name, college logo, and year of writing.
2. Introduction Page: Preface, Table of Contents, and more
Next you write a preliminary page that contains a preface, table of contents, or
table list.
Structure and How to Make a Preface to Thesis Proposals
Thesis preface writing that is often overlooked is, the writing of the preface
structure. At least three structures were noticed.
a) Making the Opening Word
First, the opening. Of course every time we write the preface to the
thesis, we need to make an opening. The opening usually contains gratitude to
God's gift for the completion of the thesis work. In this first paragraph can also
include the main purpose or purpose of why you should complete this thesis.
b) Explain the Contents and Say Thank You
In both opening paragraphs contain gratitude for the completion of
your thesis. This is where the elements are poured in the opening paragraph.
After the opening paragraph is completed, then enter the structure of the
second thesis preface, which is the contents section.

The writing of the contents of the thesis preface contains a brief

description of the theme you are carrying and you explain in the inside. But
keep in mind, in this chapter of content simply convey using solid and short
language, because the writing of the bibliography is not written clearly. Just an
important allusion.

You can write a little discussion of the content you write at the core of
your research. But remember just a little discussion. If you feel like you're
going to say it, you can do it by making important points from the core of your
writing. Then it was written in the preface.

c) Create a Closing Sentence

The last structure is the cover. The preface to the thesis in the closing
section contains an apology. Well, at this time you can write an apology for
more or less in the making of the thesis. Generally, these apologies are aimed
at readers. Of course, certainly in thesis writing, the author often analyzes
errors such as typo errors, maybe less than perfect arguments and so on.

Do not forget also, if the cover also needs to be poured the

expectations you expect. For example, hopefully in the future from the results
of your research, in the future will give birth to corrections and solutions from
other readers' ideas, to improve the results of research that may still exist that
are less than you have found.
3. Chapter 1: Background, Problem Formulation, Research Objectives, Research
Benefits
Then you will enter Chapter 1. In this chapter, the first part you should write the
background. You explained the reason for choosing the research topic. To convince
the examiner lecturer, you must present information and data that describes the
urgency of the research. You could say, this part is crucial. If you can't put together a
convincing backseat, it's likely that your research will be rejected.

Chapter 1 not only contains backgrounds, there are problem formulas as well. You
write the formula of the problem you want to solve through thesis research. Here you
should be able to make a thesis proposal with consideration of the problem
formulation stage. Because every variable in the thesis is interconnected.

Well, another part of Chapter 1 is the purpose of the research. As you know, every
research has its own purpose. Now the question is, what is the purpose of your thesis
research?

To make research goals, you have to think about it rationally and persuasively. In
addition, it does not deviate from the problem formulation. Basically the purpose of
the research is to answer the problem formulation.

Chapter 1 also contains the benefits of research. Here you explain what benefits are
obtained by readers, governments, universities, or other parties. So you should be able
to estimate what benefits are gained from this study.

4. Chapter 2: Theoretical Foundations, Previous Research, Frame of Mind,

Hypothesis
Then moving on to Chapter 2, there is a foundation or study of theory. In this chapter,
you will write about the theory used as an analytical tool. You have to explain the
theory used. Without theory, you cannot account for the research done because there
is no scientific basis.

In addition to the theoretical foundation, the other part of Chapter 2 is previous

research. This section is commonly found in qualitative research. So you put together
previous research similar to your thesis research. As a comparison material, so you
know what the difference between research and previous research. What's unique
what makes the difference.

Next there is the frame of mind and hypothesis (initial conjecture). The frame of mind
contains how the way of thinking is used in this study. Meanwhile, the hypothesis is
the initial guess you formulate from the research.

5. Chapter 3: Research Methods, Sample and Population Determination

Techniques, Data Collection Techniques, Data Analysis Techniques.
Chapter 3 focuses on methodology. You should write research methods in detail and
detail. The clearer you explain the methods used, the easier it will be for others to
describe the research plan.

In this section, you are asked to explain how you determine the sample and
population. In addition, how do you collect data and process it. All of this must be
explained in detail. To prepare this chapter, you must learn about research methods.
The problem is that research methods are of various types.

6. Conclusion
After compiling Chapters 1-3, the closing part is the conclusion. From everything you
write from Chapters 1-3, exactly what can be inferred from the design of the study?
You can insert persuasive sentences in this section if your thesis research is worth
completing.

7. Bibliography
Last section that should be there: Bibliography. This section contains all sources of
information and data that you make reference to. If there is no bibliography, you are
considered to be writing research without a solid foundation. That is, it is not
supported by scientific data and is merely asumtive. For this reason, it is important to
write a complete bibliography.
