In the digital era, there are Challenges facing employment. Some of the employment
challenges include: first, time management, time management is difficult especially to a new
employee who has still not adjusted to the new responsibilities. Due to poor time
management, the employee will often be unorganized, inefficient, and less productive.
Second, poor working relationship, poor employee versus employee relationship, and poor
relationships are caused by slackers, disagreeable coworkers, office bullies, trouble makers,
gossipers, complainers, and whiners. Third, lack of recognition and rewarding, if employees
feel that they are not recognized nor are they rewarded they may be uncomfortable.
Things will get better as time moves on, but they can only get better if the employees
can try to avoid the workplace challenges, and they can avoid the challenges in the following
way: first, good time management, for example, having a goals list or “to-do list”. Second,
having a healthy and good relationship at the workplace, that is, good employees’
relationship and good employees versus employer relationship. Third, employers should have
workplace ethics at the highest level possible, for example being honest and integral (Elias,
2018). Fourth, employers should treat their employees well, for example, with equality and
In order to assimilate the new generation into the workforce for them to think about
competitive advantage, the following methods should be used. First, creating a culture that
attracts the best employees with the best talents and skills. Second, teaching the new
generation about the advantages of competitive advantage in a business, and how to ensure
competitive advantage in a business. The new generation of investors and employees should
know the following when assimilating competitive advantage: identifying niches that are
underperformed and underserviced, understanding the customer's need and clarifying one

strength and weaknesses, and establishing a unique value proposition (Ilyina & Brazhnikov,
2016).
