Flexible Seating

Rotation Board
Running flexible seating in your classroom is a great
way to give students some initiative and
accountability to their work space choices.

I’ve had a few questions on how I choose who gets

to choose which spot they get first, especially when
1
there aren’t enough Flex Seating Choices for every
student.
2
One way to solve that problem is by using this rotation
board.

Flexible Seating Rotation

How to Use:

1.) Print and glue strips together based on how many spots you need for your
classroom (how many students you have).
2.) Laminate
3.)
4.)Where it says ‘# of the day:’ use a dry erase marker to add a student number.
I would start with number 1.
5.)The student that is assigned to #1 in your classroom would get to choose first
that day. Under the #1 would be 2, then 3, 4 etc.
6.) The next day student #2 would get to choose. The number magnets would
be in order after that. See below for a 4 day rotation example.

*Tip: Give one student the job of setting up the number and magnets for the
next day to save yourself some time.
