Describe:

My final graffiti painting says 'fishy'. The fishy letters are orange with a yellow 3D

thickness outline. There is green seaweed coming from each side of the painting. There are also

rainbow bubbles around the word, one of them the dot of the 'i'. There is an orange fish over the

'y' that is blowing three bubbles. Beside the 'f' is a magenta starfish. The background is light blue,

like water. The word is the center of attention.

When you first see the artwork, you get an inviting feeling. The artwork is friendly.

Some of the elements used are colour, shape, and texture.

My painting was made with paint, paintbrushes, water, and is on a wooden (I think) board.

Analyze:

Elements of design used in the artwork:

Colour: The green of the seaweed and the red-purple of the starfish are complementary colours.

The orange and blue are also complementary. The yellow and orange are analogous colours.

Shape: All the shapes are curvy and wavy. The words and bubbles and very curvy and the

seaweed are wavy.

Texture: Everything in this painting looks smooth and round. The fish is the only thing that looks

scaly because of the streaks of paint.

Principals of design used:

Movement: The wavy seaweed makes movement in the piece. They look like they are moving

with the water.

Harmony: The repeating colours and that everything has to do with the water makes the painting

harmonious.

Interpret:

When somebody looks at my artwork I want them to feel carefree. The bubbles are like your

troubles floating away. I want someone to look at my artwork and feel happy and amused. I hope

they will think it is fun.

Asses:

I don't think my work is super successful, but I wouldn't say I failed. I could have painted better

and made it less sloppy. It also doesn't look like graffiti. I would work on the colours not

smearing and make it neater if I could redo this piece. Out of 100, I'd give myself 70%.
