PROJECT SYNOPSIS

TITLE:

Contribution of “CLOUD COMPUTING” in the Operational Efficiency of


the Small Medium Enterprises

AIM:

To analyze the how acceptance of cloud computing would eventually


help in the operational efficiency of the organization.

OBJECTIVES:
Introducing the concept of Cloud Computing to the Small Medium
Enterprises of Bangalore and creating awareness as to how the
acceptance of the new technology would eventually help in the overall
operational efficiency of the enterprises. It also includes taking feedback
and opinions from the head of the enterprises.

KEY QUESTIONS:

 Is the head of the enterprise aware of the concept of cloud


computing?
 Is the enterprise currently maintaining a self-owned server or
taking the facility from other renting bodies?
 How much of capital expenditure did the enterprise incur and the
ongoing revenue expenditure?
 Will the enterprise be willing to switch to Cloud Computing if it
relatively decreases the cost and increases flexibility?
 Who is providing the service in the global platform and in India
who is providing the service at a competitive price as compared to
the global counterparts?

HYPOTHESIS:

1. NULL HYPOTHESIS: H0- There is no significant relationship


between the capital expenditure and revenue expenditure incurred
by the enterprise in maintaining a server and switching over the
services of Cloud Computing.

ALTERNATIVE HYPOTHESIS: H1- There is significant relationship


between the capital expenditure and revenue expenditure incurred
by the enterprise in maintaining a server and switching over the
services of Cloud Computing.

RESEARCH METHODLOGY:

The research methodology used in the study is Descriptive Research.

SURVEY DETAILS:

 The type of survey used in the project is Personal Interview.


 There is face-to-face interaction with the respondent and the
project trainee.

AREA OF SAMPLE: BANGALORE


SAMPLING DETAILS:

Sample size of 200 enterprises taken.

SAMPLING TECHNIQUE:

Convenience sampling method adopted for the respondents.

DATA COLLECTION DETAILS:

The data for the study collected through primary and secondary sources.

- PRIMARY DATA:

Primary data for this study was collected with the help of
questionnaire. A set of 10 questions are listed out for the
respondents to fill out apart from personal details. The required
data being collected using both open-ended and close-ended
questions. The questionnaire uses 5-point likert scales,
Dichotomous & Multiple choice questions and it is a structured
questionnaire.

- SECONDARY DATA:

Secondary data collected from the internet, official website of TATA


Communications, literature provided by the company and the mentor.
