low carb chocolate protein balls

Posted on September 1, 2014 — 2 Comments

Proteinballssmall After a lot of research and

hesitation I recently invested
in some whey protein powder
and I’ve been having a whole
lot of fun playing with protein
powder recipes. One thing
I’ve been wanting to try for a
long time is protein balls.

They’re the perfect mix

between a Quest bar and a
fat bomb. I love Quest Bars,
but they don’t satisfy me
because they have hardly
any fat. I also love fat bombs,
because they’re so satisfying,
but they’re super melty and
you have to keep them in the fridge or freezer. These seem to stand up well to being out of the fridge,
and to being handled without turning to liquid. I’ve also added some psyllium husk for a bit of extra
fibre. Fat, protein and fibre. It’s a triple play.

Ingredients
(Makes 12 balls)

60g vanilla whey protein powder

1/4 cup of peanut butter
1/4 cup unsweetened, desiccated coconut
2 tbsp coconut oil, melted
2 tbsp cocoa powder
2 tbsp psyllium husk
1 tsp sweetener, or to taste

Method
1. Blend all of the ingredients, except for the desiccated coconut, together in a food processor. Check
for sweetness.
2. Pinch portions from the mixture and shape into balls by rolling between your palms.
3. Carefully roll each ball in the desiccated coconut
4. Store in an airtight container in the fridge

These are exactly what I want for my next seminar to give to the
participants at the end of my presentation. Do you think there could be a
substitute ingredient for the peanuts? Or would you have another type of
ball as well as these?
Thank you :)

Yum! I love to collect this recipe from people because everyone puts their
own spin on it! This sounds delicious.
