COVER LETTER

Dear Hiring Manager,

I am writing to express my interest in the opening for an administrative assistant at {name of company].

I am drawn to this opportunity for several reasons. First, I have a proven track record of success in administrative
roles, most recently in my current job as an administrative coordinator. A highlight from my time here was when I
proactively stepped in to coordinate a summit for our senior leaders last year. I arranged travel and accommodation
for a group of 15 executives from across the company, organized meals and activities, collaborated with our internal
events team, and ensured that everything ran according to schedule over the two-day summit. Due to the positive
feedback I received afterward, I have been given the responsibility of doubling the number of attendees for the
event this year and leading an internal team to get the job done.

I am also attracted to this role because of the growth opportunities that name of company provides. The research
that I’ve done on your company culture has shown me that there are ample opportunities for self-motivated
individuals like me. A high level of organization and attention to detail are second nature to me, and I’m eager to
apply these skills in new and challenging environments.

I look forward to sharing more details of my experience and motivations with you. Thank you for your consideration.

Sincerely,

{your name}

RECOMMENDATION LETTER

It is my pleasure to strongly recommend Annie Chiu for a position as a data analyst for L&Q International.

I am Robert Cunningham, a regional manager at Mountain View Unlimited. I have 15 years of experience working as
a statistician and client services specialist and have seen many young professionals come and go. Annie Chiu is one
individual I have worked with who uniquely stands out.

During our time together, Annie displayed great talents in technical applications, such as ArcGIS, R coding, Python
and several other data visualization tools. When we first met, I was immediately impressed with Annie and the
technical skills she had on day one, but during the time worked together, her understanding of data analysis and the
tools of the trade grew far more than that of her peers.

It’s not just her technical skills that impress me, however. Annie was a joy to work with because of her amazingly
positive attitude and eagerness to stick tightly to deadlines. Her can-do attitude and team-building skills were also
necessary and valued not just by myself, but by her peers, who often relied on her to get the job done.

I am absolutely confident that Annie would be a great fit for L&Q International. Not only will she bring the kind of
skills and experiences you’re looking for in an applicant, but she will also quickly become an asset and help L&Q
International grow in any way she can.
If you need more information or specific examples, please do not hesitate to contact me at 555-123-4567, or by
email at rcunningham@mvunlimited.com. As a recommendation letter likely only provides a snapshot of her talents
and achievements, I would be happy to further elaborate on my time working with her.

Sincerely,
Robert Cunningham

MOTIVATION LETTER

Dear Mr. Thomas,

My name is Stephanie Ruiz, and I am a high school student at Seattle City High School with a keen interest in
computer studies and visual art. I am writing to apply for the multimedia design and communication degree at
Seattle University.

I hope to become a web designer, so I would like to learn more about multimedia design. I feel your course would
help me understand the digital design process and the way websites and their visual imagery can help businesses
present an image to consumers.

I love the way different colors and images can evoke emotions in viewers. I enjoy experimenting with the power of
color and imagery and think I have a natural creative flair. I am confident that I will be able to apply this flair to new
projects at your school and increase my design abilities with you.

I respect Seattle University's reputation for academic and sporting excellence. I appreciate that yours is a school that
encourages students to achieve their potential in the classroom and outside it. As a social person who has
participated in several extracurricular activities, including the school band and softball team, I feel my diverse
interests would make me a great fit for your school.

Studying at your school would help me develop my aptitude for design while having fun, whether it is on the
sporting field or in another arena. I am open to whatever experiences life at Seattle University would bring me and
hope I could achieve them through your multimedia design and communication degree. Thank you very much for
considering my request. Please email me at stephanie_ruiz@email.com if you have any questions about my
application.

Yours faithfully,

Stephanie Ruiz
LETTER OF COMPLAINT

Dear Sir/Madam,

I am writing to express my dismay at the service at your Eden Hill branch on Saturday 14 January.

I often collect prescriptions from the pharmacy on behalf of my grandmother, Mrs Elaine Bingham. On this occasion
there were two prescriptions: one for 10 x 50 mg Kendomol and one for 50 x 100 mg Leoprone. I was served quickly
even though there appeared to be only one pharmacist on duty. However, as I was leaving I saw that I had been
given 500 mg tablets of Kendomol. This is ten times stronger than the prescription called for.

If I hadn't noticed the difference between the prescription and the actual tablets, my grandmother could have taken
a dangerous overdose of Kendomol. I would be worried about getting any future prescriptions at Eden Hill.

The pharmacist apologised and corrected the mistake but I wanted to bring it to your attention. I think it happened
because there were not enough staff on duty. I understand that mistakes happen but there needs to be a minimum
of two pharmacists at all times so all prescriptions can be checked.

I hope you can take steps to make sure this mistake does not happen again.

Yours faithfully,

Roger Bingham
