TELL ME ABOUT YOURSELF

Thank you for giving me the opportunity to be interviewed for the position today.
My name is Mark, and I would describe my self as a positive, enthusiastic and
trustworthy person who, having a read the job description feels confident & I
already have the necessary attributes to excel in the role. I have held several job
positions previously that has given me skills and qualities that I believe will add
value to your team. For example, in my last role, I was part of a nationwide
Surveys, The Labor Force Survey and Family Income and Expenditure Survey
conducted by the PSA to gather data on the demographic & socio-economic
characteristics of the population. Outside of work, I am single person who has
personal goals that I want to achieve. I know the only way I will achieve those
goals is If I work hard and do a good job for my employer. If you employ me, I
will always act as a positive role model for this institution and I will work hard to
repay the trust you will have shown by hiring me in this position.
Most of my friends call me Gab, I was born in Manila and raised in Cavite. I
started off my work exposure as a Intern in SEC and I volunteered in SunLife as a
Game Facilitator. Recently, I work as a Statistical Researcher in PSA Cavite, most
of my time there, I was part of a nationwide surveys, the Labor Force survey and
the Family income and expenditure surveys. The FIES which provide the results of
our collecting data on the levels of consumption by item of expenditure as well as
there sources of income whether in cash or in kind.
contact tracer in DILG where I conducted case interview, profiling a health risk
assessment of COVID-19 cases and I do collaboration in other government
agencies for enhanced contact tracing.

I consider myself a movie junkie when it comes to horror movies. I just couldn’t
get enough of it and I can name horror 100 movies right now as we speak. The best
I’ve ever watched so far was The Evil Dead. The original was a great one but I
preferred the remake because they top-notched my expectation for changing some
twist in the movie. I also love to read fiction novel and motivational books. But
more importantly, this hobby helps a lot with my goal to work in a call center. It
really improves my English communication skills.
STRENGTHS
My strengths include the fact that I am flexible and versatile. When I was part of
the survey team, I’d always prepared to take on duties and responsibilities that
were outside of my normal job description and I’m available to help out the team at
short notice whenever required. And also, other strengths include my collaborative
approach to working. I strongly believe that a team can achieve brilliant things
when they are respectful of everyone’s opinions and contributions and they are all
focused on the same goal. Finally, perhaps my greatest strength is my creative and
innovative. I’m a type of person that always think outside the box when
overcoming difficult challenges. If you hire me; you can rely on me to help this
government agency to find ways to improved marketing strategies.
WEAKNESSES
In situations where there’s a deadline to be met. I tend to want things to be done
quickly and efficiently. This has made me appear to be impatient in front of others.
As a result, I have learned to be cognizant of this fact and no longer try constantly
update myself on what my co-workers are up to as often. Instead, I’ve
implemented weekly meetings, where everyone comes to the table with their
updates and that has led to greater efficiency for everyone involved.
YOUR EDGE OVER OTHER APPLICANTS
I not only have the experiences necessary to succeed in the position. I also fit in
well with your company vision and have the ability to work quickly and
efficiently. Other candidates may have some impressive qualifications of their own
but no other candidates are going to fit in as well as effectively as I will.
SEE MYSELF 2-3 YEARS FROM NOW
In the first 2-3 years, I see myself becoming part of public service and I plan to
really immerse myself on government institution, understand some areas that I can
be improved on and being part of our government projects, it always drawn me to
opportunities that allow me to serve other people.
GOALS
My goals are divided into 2. Short time term and long-term goal. My short-term
goals are to simply break into the field. I need to start building a strong presence in
the industry, working for a company I respect and doing a job that I enjoy. My
long-term goals are to earn new responsibility within the company and helping the
company succeed in the long term.
WHY SHOULD WE HIRE YOU?
You should hire me for several reasons, I am very positive person, who enjoys the
challenge of working on difficult projects. Over the years I am passionate working
on government services and the skills I have built up are a solid match for this job
description. Also, you should hire me because I am a fast learner, that means you
won’t have to spend your valuable time closely monitoring or supervising me.
Finally, I have no problem separating work from personal matters. I will always
take care of my ongoing professional development. This means the skills and the
knowledge I possess will always be purposeful and relevant to the position.
WHY DO YOU WANT TO WORK IN GOVERNMENT?
I’ve always believed that service-related work is the most rewarding. Knowing that
your job is a part of a larger initiative to maintain and improved public life keeps
me motivated. I’ve always been drawn to opportunities that allow me to serve
other people.

I feel I have reached my full potential and I am now looking for a new challenge
with a fresh and exciting and ambitious employer.
