Client UNSW Educational Delivery Services

Product Prototype: Re-developing ELISE from “Smart Sparrow” to “Articulate”

Project name UNSW ELISE Library Project

Contact name Martin Parisio and Natasha Lukman

What is the challenge we are trying to solve?

UNSW library has an e-learning system called ELISE which is compulsory for all students at UNSW to
complete. ELISE is broadly about academic integrity and introduces all students to proper practice in
academia. Information about ELISE may be viewed here:
https://subjectguides.library.unsw.edu.au/elise/home This job is focused on moving the existing system
from “Smart Sparrow” (https://www.smartsparrow.com) to “Articulate”.

How does this project tie into our business goals?

As the Smart Sparrow eLearning platform is being retired on December 31, 2020, UNSW is aiming to rebuild
existing Smart Sparrow lessons in alternative platforms. This will ensure that the content and questions in
these lessons may continue to be used by UNSW students, staff and external users in 2021 and beyond.
We have a solution for the Smart Sparrow ELISE system for the commencement of 2021 however we are
also exploring the option of Articulate as a candidate solution for the future.

What qualifications are we looking for?

We are seeking an experienced designer/developer with a proven track record creating high quality
interactive lessons using Articulate 360. In particular, we are looking for strong capability in building
comprehensive branching scenarios and an ability to develop the underlying assessment/scoring
functionality using Articulate.

What will be the freelancer’s responsibilities?

• To build a prototype using Articulate according to the content within the Smart Sparrow lesson and
based on our instructions.
o If you are not familiar with Smart Sparrow, we will give you a guide to navigate the platform

1
o We can also help create an account in the platform, if you do not already have one, to use for
analysing the existing system.
• Revise and edit the Articulate solution based on our feedback.
