Final Lab

1) Build the Wheatstone Bridge circuit (shown below) in Multisim. Place all of the
same probes as pictured, i.e. four ammeters, and one voltmeter that measures
the voltage across the load resistor (R5). (Although the bridge drawing we are
familiar with is diamond shaped, this is the same circuit).

2) Balance the Wheatstone Bridge circuit by adjusting the potentiometer’s

resistance. The bridge is balanced when the currents in the ammeter are the
same whether the switch is open or closed AND the voltage across the open
switch is 0 V (or the voltage across R5 is 0 V when the switch is closed).
Remember, Multisim will show a very small voltage drop that we can consider to
be 0 V (i.e. don’t waste your life trying to get it to read 0 V because it may never!)

3) Once your Wheatstone Bridge is balanced, export two images (or screenshot the
images). Image 1 should have the switch open, and Image 2 should have the
switch closed. Both images should show the currents that are flowing and the
voltage across the load resistor.

4) Upload your two images to Blackboard.
