Tata Nexon EV ( Electric vehicle ) car is not getting sales in Goa even after providing the best features
and latest technology in it.

Introduction:-

The Indian automobile industry is one of the fastest growing automobile industries in the world.
Automobile Industry is considered to be one of the key sectors of any economy; it is capable of being
the driver of economic growth because of both its backward as well as forward linkages with other
sectors of the economy. Tata cars are known for their performance and safety, not only this but they
also come up with the latest technologies which makes the buyer to accommodate with the present
world. Nexon EV electric car which is one of the best car among SUV series which comes with Electric
Engine with automatic transmission. Besides providing best technology by the company people are still
not opting for this vehicle and this leads to less profit in terms of SUV’s. An already popular alternative
fuel, EVs are likely to face strong competition from CNG-run vehicles considering their cost advantage
for passengers with low daily usage. A TCO analysis for electric and CNG vehicles suggests EVs offer a
favorable proposition only above a daily running of 170-180kms, making it more attractive for
commercial fleet applications than for the individual buyer. The purpose of this study is to gain a better
understanding of factors that influence consumer for not buying Tata Nexon electric cars. It is true that
if you are satisfied you recommend it to others. Word of mouth and customer satisfaction play a very
important role in determining market perception about an electric vehicle. It is the market perception
that determines the success of any company’s car. The reason behind this research is to find the
reasons why people are not going for EV cars. In this report many important factors have been discussed
which supports the research like objectives, purpose, type of research used, Data collection techniques
and many more.

Literature Review :-

In present scenario, air pollution has become a serious concern for the India. According to recent global
report, many cities in the India are most polluted cities. Major sectors contributing to the air pollution
are industrial sector and transport sector. In order to minimize the air pollution, adoption of electric
vehicles (EVs) may contribute to the alleviation of problems such as environmental pollution, global
There are many studies done globally to understand consumer adoption of EVs. Factors studied are the
cost of the EV, driving distance per charge, time to recharge the battery, availability of charging points
and battery cost. Range anxiety and incentives offered both financial and non-financial are the other

the Electric Vehicles in India. The higher price of EVs could restrain EV adoption. This report provides the
brief literature review on the Electric Vehicles and compiles the advantages and threats in promoting
EVs in India.

Research Problem :-

To Explore why people of Goa are not responding positively towards electric cars specifically towards
Nexon EV and to understand the factors influencing customer for not buying electric cars.

Justification :-

The purpose of the research is to find out the reasons behind why Tata Nexon EV cars are not getting
sold in today’s world specially in Goa and to analyze the issues inducing the buying of Electric cars.

Need for the study

The reason behind this study is to gain a better understanding of factors that influence consumer for not
buying Electric cars and also to Understand the perception and preferences of buyers towards buying
Tata Nexon EV car. And also to find out reasons why people are not ready to opt Electric vehicles.

Research Framework :-

To study the priority of the customer for different categories of cars that is electric , fuel or CNG gas and
also to know why there is less demand for electric cars in Goa specially for Nexon EV.

Research Objective :-

To understand whether fear factor affecting the buying decision related to electric bill and the durability.

Research Sub objective :-

1. To identify Why Customers are still preferring petrol and diesel cars and not going for electric vehicles.
Price affecting the buying decision

2. To understand consumer's perception towards Electric cars.

3. To determine whether consumers are satisfied with electronic cars.

4. To understand demographic profile of buyers.

Research hypothesis:-

 One of the main reasons behind buyers not going for an electric car is the high ownership cost. For
buyers of EVs, the total cost of ownership (TCO).
 the cost for acquisition, running, and maintenance, is the most important factor determining the viability
of the vehicle.
 Petrol and diesel station are convenient as compared to electric car charge station
 Fuel car has good performance status as compared to ev cars.
 Value for money causing consumer to migrate from fuel cars to electric cars
 Fuel cars are cheaper than ev cars

Research Data collection

1) Online Survey

A set of survey questions is sent out about TATA Nexon EV Car in form of link to a target sample and the
members of this sample can respond to the questions over the locality

2) Interview

It will be a technique asked to the customers who walk in which will involve asking open-ended and
closed ended questions to converse with respondents and collect elicit data about the Nexon EV car.

3) Focused groups
We will be targeting group involving a small number of demographically similar people or participants
and understanding their reactions towards the Nexon EV Car while asking them related questions.
