STATEMENT OF PURPOSE

Nowadays EV cars are an attraction for youngsters. Where they

are starting to forget about the combustion engine cars. I chose
this topic to collect more information about EV cars and
combustion engine cars and to know the knowledge of the people.
Further, I am going to compare both to see which is the best and
which is the future of the automotive industry.

ACTION PLAN
1. To accomplish my objective and to complete the project, I went
through all the documents about EV cars and combustion engine
cars. Then, I took many surveys to find out which car is preferred
more and why.

2. After a long research, I made a questionnaire with a list of 10

questions and distributed it to some of my friends and classmates.
On collecting all their opinion, I had a clear idea of which car is
preferred more and which is the best.

3. Finally, I went through all their responses and opinions and

searched some websites. I prepared a statistical graph based on the
survey results.
INTRODUCTION

Combustion engine cars, also known as internal combustion

engine (ICE) cars, are vehicles powered by engines that burn a
mixture of fuel and air to generate mechanical power. These cars
have been the dominant form of personal transportation for a
century. Combustion engine cars can have various types of
internal combustion engines, including gasoline engines and diesel
engines. Gasoline engines are more common in passenger
vehicles, while diesel engines are often used in trucks and some
passenger cars. Gasoline and diesel fuel are the primary sources of
energy for combustion engine cars. These fuels are stored in a tank
within the vehicle and are transported to the engine for
combustion. Combustion engine cars emit various pollutants,
including carbon dioxide (CO2), nitrogen oxides (NOx), and
particulate matter (PM). These emissions contribute to air
pollution and are a major concern for their environmental impact.
The fuel efficiency of combustion engine cars varies depending on
factors such as engine type, vehicle size, and driving conditions.
Manufacturers have made efforts to improve fuel efficiency in
response to environmental concerns and consumer demand.
Combustion engine cars require regular maintenance, including oil
changes, air filter replacements, and tune-ups. They also have
complex systems like the cooling system, transmission, and
exhaust system that may need attention. Over the years,
combustion engine technology has evolved to become more
efficient and environmentally friendly. Features like
turbocharging, direct fuel injection, and hybridization have been
introduced to improve performance and reduce emissions. Despite
their widespread use, combustion engine cars face challenges
related to environmental concerns, fuel availability, and the
transition to alternative propulsion systems like electric vehicles
(EVs) as societies seek cleaner and more sustainable
transportation options.
Electric vehicles (EVs) are vehicles that are powered by electricity
rather than traditional internal combustion engines fueled by
gasoline or diesel. EVs have gained popularity in recent years due
to their potential to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, improve
energy efficiency, and reduce reliance on fossil fuels. EVs are
equipped with electric motors, which use electricity to generate
mechanical power and propel the vehicle. These motors are highly
efficient and produce instant torque, providing responsive
acceleration. The most critical component of an EV is its high-
capacity rechargeable battery pack. This battery stores electrical
energy and supplies power to the electric motor. Battery capacity
is measured in kilowatt-hours (kWh), and it determines the
vehicle's range on a single charge. The range of an EV refers to
how far it can travel on a single charge. Many EVs have
regenerative braking, which can improve efficiency and extend
range.EVs come in various ranges, from short-range city cars to
long-range models that can cover hundreds of miles on a single
charge. EVs produce zero tailpipe emissions, reducing air
pollution and greenhouse gas emissions compared to combustion
engine cars. The environmental impact depends on the source of
the electricity used for charging. EVs generally have fewer
moving parts than combustion engine cars, resulting in lower
maintenance requirements. There is no need for oil changes or
many of the traditional engine-related maintenance tasks. While
EVs may have a higher upfront purchase price compared to some
combustion engine cars, they offer lower operating costs due to
reduced maintenance expenses (no oil changes, fewer brake
replacements) and lower fuel costs (electricity is typically cheaper
than gasoline or diesel).

OBSERVATION
The Questionnaire that was circulated brought in expected
responses, most of the people preferred Combustion engine cars
over EV cars. According to the survey, people chose EV cars over
combustion engine cars due to their less maintenance. Most
people are very concerned about the choice of their car which has
an impact on the environment. In terms of range, people think EV
cars are more efficient than combustion engine cars. According to
people's opinion combustion engine cars are most safe than EV
cars. When talking about performance, most of the results say
combustion engine is the best. Most people think EV cars can help
in the improvement of the environment. EV cars are easier to
maintain than combustion engine cars. Most of the people voted
no for saying that EV cars have a longer life than combustion
engine cars.

Statistical Analysis
REFLECTION
In conclusion, I learned a lot of information about both EVs and
combustion engine cars and even got to know about people's
choices. After doing the survey, many people still chose to prefer
combustion engine cars. The choice between an electric vehicle
and a combustion engine car depends on various factors, including
your environmental concerns, budget, driving habits, and access to
charging or refuelling infrastructure. The automotive industry is
continually evolving, with advancements in both EV and
combustion engine technologies, giving consumers more options
to consider.
