1.1 Overview
The system manager may need to listen to all or some tones and voice guides to test them.
As for users, they may chose not to hear voice guides on their sets, even though several
features entail routine playing of voice guides on user sets.

2.1 Basic description

Voice guide and tonality check may be performed for two completely independent objectives:
1. The system manager wishes to listen to some or all tones or voice guides to test them. He
simply dials a prefix from his set to be able to hear all tones or voice guides available in the
set language. For information on how to manage tones and voice guides, see the module
Voice guides and music-on-hold - Overview and the module Tones - Overview .
2. The user wishes to be able to confirm play back (or not) of voice guides on his set in daily
use.
A listening class (of 8, from 0 to 7) is assigned to the set. The user will hear the voice
guides corresponding to the class configured in the set's attributes.
Note: With class 0, the user will not hear any voice guides. In this case, when using the set, voices
guides are replaced by tones.
If the user does not wish to hear the voice guides, he dials a prefix to switch to class 0. He
can recover his initial class by entering this prefix again.
