Installing Smaart v.6

Installing Smaart v.6 on any computer for the first time is a two-stage
process. Initial installation from the CD or web download installs a
temporary, 30-day copy of Smaart v.6 to enable immediate use. Perma-
nent installation requires a keyfile created by EAW specifically for your
machine. To obtain your keyfile you will need access to the Internet and
your Smaart v.6 serial number (included in your package or e-mailed to
you if you purchased online).

NOTE: We strongly recommend closing all other programs and suspending

anti-virus and/or system monitor software before installing Smaart.

Running the Smaart installation:

å When you run Smaart v.6 after installation, a window appears im-
mediately asking if you want to unlock the program. Click Continue to
use Smaart without registering (during the 30-day trial period) or Unlock
Now to register. You can get back to this screen at any time through
Smaart’s About dialog. (On Mac OS X, select About Smaart under Smaart
on the system’s menu bar. In Windows, choose Help > About Smaart.)
}}} QUICK REFERENCE CARD
ç If you have Internet access from the computer you are installing on,
click Unlock Online in the registration dialog. You will be asked for your
serial number and login information for my.eaw.com. If you have not yet
set up your account at my.eaw.com, Smaart can do it for you. After enter-
ing all required information, just click Unlock Now.

é To unlock with a keyfile, make a note of the Machine Number shown

in Smaart’s About dialog, then log into my.eaw.com from any web
browser. Use your e-mail address and Smaart v.6 serial number to create
your account if you don’t have one. At my.eaw.com, follow the link for
your copy of Smaart, then enter your Machine Number in one of the
spaces provided. Click the link to download your keyfile. Transfer this
file to the machine running Smaart. Run the program and select Unlock
