We are delighted to have secured a truly special
cooperation deal in time for the start of the 2016 training
season: one of the most successful sports car drivers
in the world – racing champion Timo Bernhard – is now an
official partner of the Porsche Sport Driving School.
In this role, he will personally attend selected training
events, share his many years of experience with
our participants and assist them with the continued
development of their driving skills.
Timo Bernhard is the longest-serving Porsche works driver.
He began his successful career with Porsche in 1999
as a junior and, to this day, remains the only works driver
to have been crowned champion in all categories of the
Porsche pyramid: in 2001, he won the Porsche Carrera Cup
Germany; in 2004, he took the GT title in the American
Le Mans Series; in 2007 and 2008, he was named LMP2
class champion at the same venue with the RS Spyder.
Timo Bernhard has won all the major sports car endurance
races: the 24h of Le Mans and Daytona and the 12h of
Sebring. Not to mention five triumphs at the 24h of
Nürburgring. Before his world championship title in 2015,
his greatest international award had come with overall
victory in Le Mans 2010 for Audi. Since 2013, Timo has
been an integral part of the Le Mans LMP1 project with
Porsche. In the FIA World Endurance Championship, he
co-piloted the Porsche 919 Hybrid with Australia’s Mark
Webber and New Zealand’s Brendon Hartley. In 2015,
the trio went on to claim a total of four victories in eight
races, a haul that ultimately led to the WEC drivers’ title.
We are excited to call on Timo Bernhard’s many years
of experience as part of our Porsche Sport Driving School
training courses, and we look forward to being able to
share this experience with you.
