1. Script Adaptation (5%)

Adaptation is a twist of an original story. Adaptation is the process of retelling familiar stories by
taking a piece from one story and changing certain aspects such as the setting, characters, themes, personalities,
storylines, and several other parts but using the same concepts. An adaptation is also a new story or a retelling of
an old story in a new media and includes texts from the previous work or use of elements from the original work
in the new work or work that retells the old story. Furthermore, an adaptation happens when the material is taken
from an already existing source such as a novel, movie, stage play, or other visual performance that portrays a
written in the book, novel, poem, or otherwise.

2. The New Environment in Script Adaptation (5%)

The new environment in script adaptation has been reconstructed into a new and different form. New
environment in script adaptation can be very true to the original story or only have a few similarities. New
environment in script adaptation is also an attempt to take an older form of new setting or to interest the younger
generation. The change of environment in script adaptation makes the old work better suited and more successful
in its new environment and might interest and captivate the new generation.
PART C

‘To alter the structure or function of an entity so that it is better fitted to survive and to
multiply in its new environment.’

Linda Costanzo Cahir (2012)

Refer to the above statement. In between 50-100 words

Explained the concept of new environment in Snow White and The Huntsman
(2012).

(10%)

The concept of the new environment in Snow White and The Huntsman (2012) is the setting in this
filmed which is the place that has been filmed is different from the original story. For instance, the original
settings from the Grimm brother's work took place in Germany. The film was then shot in the United Kingdom
and Scotland to better suit the figurative setting. Meantime, the character in this film was added which is Finn.
He is not mentioned in the original text and the others are still the same as the original. The film also is set in a
war zone. It's a very different setting than the original text. The change of environment in script adaptation makes
the old work better suited and more successful and its new environment might interest and captivate the new
generation.
