Automobile industry of Uzbekistan.

The automobile industry occupies one of the leading places in the economy of Uzbekistan. This
industry employs a significant number of the country's population. Up to 250 thousand cars are
produced annually (after several years of falling production in 2019, the production of cars
reached 270 thousand units). The automobile industry of Uzbekistan occupies the 28th - 37th
place among the countries producing vehicles and, according to this indicator, is in second place
after the automobile industry of Russia in the post-Soviet space and in the first place among the
countries of Central Asia. Uzbekistan has been a member of the International Organization of
Motor Vehicle Manufacturers (OICA) since 1998.

In Soviet times, the automobile factories of the USSR were not located on the territory of the
Uzbek USSR. Only in Tashkent was there a tractor production plant founded in 1942. As a result
of the collapse of the USSR, like all other union republics, Uzbekistan became an independent
state.

In June 1992, the first President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Islam Karimov, during his
official visit to South Korea, visited the Daewoo factories. In 1993, two years after Uzbekistan
gained independence, an agreement was reached with the South Korean corporation Daewoo. In
1994, between the South Korean corporation Daewoo and the UzAutoSanoat company, a joint
automobile company was formed - "UzDaewooAuto". Prior to the opening of the plant, the
workers of the new plant completed an internship at Daewoo Corporation and other automobile
companies in the world. Currently, the auto industry of Uzbekistan is producing UzAutoSanoat.

UzAutoSanoat is an Uzbek holding company that controls SKD automobile manufacturing

enterprises GM Uzbekistan, Samarkand Automobile Plant, MAN Auto-Uzbekistan, GM
powertrain Uzbekistan and a localization and component auto enterprise, a dealer network was
created in Uzbekistan and the CIS countries. The company's products fully satisfied the demand
for cars of these classes in Uzbekistan and were widely exported to the CIS countries, Georgia,
Afghanistan and Pakistan. The plant personnel regularly undergo full internships in their
specialties at Daewoo, General Motors and other automobile companies in the world.

Conclusion.
If we talk about the positive aspects of this agreement, then the Korean company for the
production of cars and the Uzbek company rallied together and share with each other the
necessary, and most importantly useful resources. Korean technologies, knowledge of people,
together with Uzbek proposals and materials, make it possible to give more benefits from trade.
Good interactions between the two countries increase the productivity and the opportunity for the
largest project. International relations are improving and strengthening and sanctions on imports
and exports are significantly reduced and this cannot but please. Of course, accessibility and
comfort for the consumer is also important.
