Jul 2005 - Dec 2012 Project Manager/Specialist

(7 years 5 months ) Kaya ITS

KayaITs is an incubation company funded by group of investors from Philippines and UK, the main
business of the company is provide payment facilities for online shopping focused on OFW market. Similar
to Paypal and electronic debit (credit) cards, Filipinos abroad can purchase credits on KayaITS payment
portal and spend these on shops that accepts it. Most of these shops are based on the Philippines wherein
the buyer can then opt to have the packages delivered to its PH recipient.

As a project manager it is my duty to the oversee the initial planning and business development, this
includes estimating the project development timeline, resources (equipment) and required personnel
(development and operation), this is then incorporated into the overall forecast for approval of yearly
budget.

During the development phase, I manage a team of 3 people and makes regular reports on the progress,
manage risk in the timeline so that the marketing and sales group can properly adjust their media plans and
partner vendors are kept informed so that they can also keep their on marketing plans sync and operations
teams aware when orders via KayaITS are to be accepted and what to do with them. It is additionally my
responsibility to make sure the team adheres to the development process such that coding standards are
followed, tests are passed and bugs reported are prioritized and addressed promptly then regular releases
of changes are done (planned maintenances).

I also have to work with vendors to make sure they have correctly implemented the payment API into their
shopping site/store-front (if they have) or train them how to use the merchants portal and incorporate this
into their order fulfillment workflow.

During the operation phase, although we have assigned managers for managing vendors and buyers, I am
still involved in providing customer support especially in cases of disputes to make sure that all purchases

are fully validated by our system before the vendors fulfill the orders and deliver the packages. Incidents
are tracked (via site forum and calls) and its source identified, when events are related to system errors, it
is logged into the development team’s bug tracking system where every week we review all the tickets
logged and plan a sprint -- an development agile method which is most effective during operation phase.
There are incidents however that are categorized and emergency or disaster level such as outages, critical
bugs and vulnerabilities, it is my sole responsibility as part of the disaster and continuity plan to put these
mission critical changes, by passing the development team and releasing the changes without planning or
testing.

Finally we have extended our services to other companies either providing them the payment platform or
developing a similar solution based on their current system. The incubation ended in 2007 where 100%
shares was bought by the UK partners while the PH investors were able to keep the branding and the
rights which we leveraged to provide continued consulting services to other companies until 2010.

(4 years 8 months ) Finger Apps Inc

As a specialist, I provide server side development for wireless and internet enabled services such WAP
sites and integration of website to SMS messaging (and vice versa).
Part of the highlights in my career with the company is handing the project conceptualization, management
and implementation of the Friendster Mobile project. The first mobile enabled social network in the
Philippines. I created the initial system specification of the system – how each social network features will
be translated into mobile and incorporated the charging models based on the business requirement ( we
identified that users are willing to pay P15/week, 3 parties will be splitting the revenues from 2 types of
transaction – a per request charging and a subscription type charging). I also created the development
timeline which includes a team of 2 developers in the PH and a large team of about 20 in the US. The team
in the US will do the actual implement of the required changes to Friendster.com as I call-in each feature to
be available in mobile. The project took only under 2 months to develop with no delay to the timeline.

(2 years ) Helpster Inc
Helpster was develop as a spin-off company from KayaITS (please see entry on KayaITS), We identified
some major demands from OFW buyers using KayaITS payments to purchase some products that are not
sold by any of our current vendor partners. So we decided we create an online concierge service wherein
buyers can “ask” someone to buy these products by physically going into the store in exchange for
additional fees.

As project manager, I was in charge in developing the business model especially the bidding like process
wherein the buyer will post the request and the starting “bid”, the other members acting as “concierges” will
either bid up or down depending on how soon then can accomplish the request. For example you can bid
up if you can offer to purchase the request today or tomorrow or bid down but offer purchase the request by
end of the week.

Since KayaITS and Helpster is on the same premise, we have incorporated most of the daily tasks such as
customer support and development with KayaITS as shared service.
