This is to declare that the performance of concrete is not only depends on
Admixture, but also depends on quality of cement and aggregates (coarse and fine), moisture content etc. and also depends on external factors such as air Temperature and Humidity, where all these factors are not constant. 1. Variable Cement chemistry (i.e. variation of C3A, SO3 and alkali contents, nature of sulphates and the fineness) is a common phenomenon of any cement, even within the same type and brand of cement. 2. Variation of quality of aggregates (shape and size, gap gradation within the same Zone of sand) is also a common factor, as all these are natural occurring. 3. As India is a topical country, variation of Temperature and Humidity is very normal matter here. Hence varying performance of concrete can be expected with a given dose of admixture due to the variation of above mentioned facts, which need to be maintained by the adjustment of the dose of admixture and moisture content at site. Here referring IS 9103 (6th paragraph under Foreword), IS 456 (amendment No 4) and ACI 212-3R (clause No 4.4 under page No 13) as supporting document of the above mentioned statement.
