Popper Lab
HINT: Use these lab report notes: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1odffGVgxcQ3va-Jboz0WsfVIan_W0G2kQb4sf4Fq1AE/edit?usp=sharing

Introduction
{Hint: Lab question, equations being used, and course domains and how you met them
Our objective was to see how much force was needed to lift something to its maximum height.
2 2
We used the equation to find velocity (𝑉 = 𝑉0 + 2𝑎(𝑦 − 𝑦0) , and the equation to find

acceleration
(Fp - Mg = Ma).

Variables
{Hint: Independent, dependent, constants - in complete sentences}
Our independent variable was the height that the popper launched, our dependent variable was
the force needed to lift it, and our constant was the popper itself.

Hypothesis
{Hint: this should relate to the lab question. Be sure to explain WHY you think this.}
We were trying to find out the force required to lift an object to its maximum height

Materials
- 1 Popper
- 2 Tape measures (one on the wall and one to measure the popper)
- Wall
- Human force
- IPhone camera (to record video)

Procedure
{Complete, specific, detailed! I should be able to do exactly what you did. There should be a
least one diagram or picture of your set-up with a picture title and description}

1. First, we measured the popper with the tape measure

2. Next, we went to the tape measure on the wall and placed the popper and camera into
position.
3. Then, we had someone start the recording and hold the popper down
- While holding it down, before we released it we made sure that we kept our
fingers on the sides and out of the path of the popper.
4. Then, we let go and kept track of how far it launched.
5. We repeated steps 3 and 4 for the other 4 trials.
6. Then we wrote down all our data, letting Google Sheets solve the equations for velocity,
acceleration, and force.

Data and Analysis

{All data tables, graphs, observations, etc go here}

*6th bar was average acceleration

^6th bar is the average

*White bar = Average height

*White bar = Average Force of Pop

Error Analysis
{What errors existed in the lab, how did you minimize that error, do you trust your data}
The launches were not precise in terms of hand placement. We did several tests to minimize our
margins of error due to this.
Conclusion
{Hint: Check the lab report notes for the FIVE parts of a good conclusion}
