Lab 2: Popper Force

Research Objective:
What is the force required to lift an object to its maximum height?
What can change that force?

Prelab Guiding Questions:

1. What is the acceleration due to gravity on Earth?
2. What Equation can tell you how fast the object leaves the table?
3. What Domains do you expect to use during this lab?
4. What factors can change the force exerted on the popper?
5. How can you test the differences?

Procedure:
1. Use the popper toy
2. Measure and record the height the popper toy jumps (minimum 3 trials) in m
3. Use Sheets to Create a data table that included all the data you collected to solve for
a. The speed the popper you left the ground at
b. The acceleration and force the ground exerted on the popper toy
4. Choose a factor that causes the force and change it in at least two ways.
5. Use your procedure to determine the Height, acceleration, and force.

Post lab Guiding Questions:

1. What equation went into your spreadsheet? How did you get them?
2. How consistent was your popper toy?
3. How did you change the treatments?
4. What did you keep the same/ what was different?
5. Is your speed, acceleration, and force values reasonable?
6. What is causing your error?
