Reflection Week 6

Data is essential in any organization, particularly in today's competitive environment

where effective data usage results in profitability in a shorter period as many firms struggle for

true and correct data. These data must always be processed in real-time and correctly, so that

decisions can be made more effectively; however, the data we get is highly voluminous and takes

up considerable storage in the database. This makes it difficult for the analytics team to reduce

duplication and bring forth exactly the important information to the judgment call procedure. The

capacity to evaluate numerous data resources is perhaps the most crucial criterion for business

intelligence performance. The quality of the data is also critical to the dependability of business

intelligence (Howson, 2014). The BI system should enable decision-makers to get a broader

understanding of the corporate, allowing them to make more credible and timely choices. Quality

data reduces risk and can lead to continuous improvements in outcomes. The notion of the data

source maze and the process examples are also extremely intriguing to grasp.

Data governance is indeed essential since it gives significance to an organization's data.

Leveraging governance and an affluent business taxonomy gives confidence and insight to the

data of an organization, driving digital transition throughout the company. Businesses may

conquer the 'garbage-in, garbage-out monster of data gathering and management by using MDM

technologies. Therefore, it aids in deriving superior information from the resulting precise and

consistent data to boost sales, optimize operations, and optimize strategy development. The

objective is to gain insights into the quality of that data by using various procedures and

techniques to progressively large and complicated data sets

It is critical to assure data quality. Bad data not only costs business time and money, but

it also drags through the whole organization. Companies depend on data to make decisions about

their inventory, marketing strategies, and distribution of resources. Inadequate insight can result

in incorrect company strategies since they do not reflect actual, prompting executives to make

rash judgments. Conclusively, data quality is a determinant factor for BI and is recognized as a

necessity for system integrity and acceptability.
