LAHAR
A lahar is a hot or cold mixture of water and rock
fragments that flow quickly down the slopes of a volcano.
ASHFALL
a rain of airborne ash resulting from a volcanic eruption.
PHYROCLASTIC FLOW
A pyroclastic flow is a dense, fast-moving flow of solidified
lava pieces, volcanic ash, and hot gases. It occurs as part of
certain volcanic eruptions. A pyroclastic flow is extremely
hot, burning anything in its path.
VOLCANIC GASES
Volcanic gases are gases given off by active (or, at times,
by dormant) volcanoes. These include gases trapped in
cavities (vesicles) in volcanic rocks, dissolved or
dissociated gases in magma and lava, or gases emanating
from lava, from volcanic craters or vents.
