TASK B
Introduction
I started off our project with a clear idea in mind; we wanted to make a video. We
decided to use my place to shoot the images and videos, because of the three of us,
I had the most suitable room. I had literally no experience with making videos or
taking light, reflection and shadow into account when doing so, which I why I have
learned a lot about how to do that. The biggest challenge I faced presented with
showing the the body language and face experienced.
After we had shot all that we had though we needed, the editing started. As with
filming, I had no real experience with editing videos, so I had to pick this up along the
way, which was somewhat frustrating, but in the end worth the effort. We wanted to
create a dark and gritty ambiance, so we applied various filters to all of our footage.
And a dark and gritty ambiance is nothing without dark and gritty music, so we
sought to find suitable audio that added this extra flavour, without intruding too much.
The biggest challenge I faced came when actually trying to create the video. I felt like
it ended up being the garbage that I was trying to avoid in the first place. It didn’t feel
professional, and it didn’t feel genuine, mostly because I don’t actually feel strongly
against the idea.
I faced was something of a self-imposed one, in that I didn’t want to use iMovie to
create this project, since I prefer to use my computer. I went through several pieces
of software before I found one that was free, relatively easy to use, accepted
common video formats, and didn’t include a watermark. I only used two or three
exterior sources, mostly for images and videos, which have been cited as properly
as I know how to so I have to buy to remove the watermark.
I showed my video to my friend and she comment that the music is to loud and my
voice need more various expression. Over all she likes my editing with pop up
picture and wording to help people understand with graphic.
Personal opinion
My experience making this film was incredibly fruitful, challenging, exciting, and
ultimately rewarding. Little did I know coming into this project that it would require the
amount of time and effort that it did.
The issue that I faced while filming, which was more on the technical side, was not
having enough memory or battery power in the video camera to complete an
interview. As long as groups are more mindful about transferring the video to edited.
At the end I have to ask my friend to install video maker to make a simple video with
effect.
Conclusion
Overall, I’m really grateful for having the opportunity to make a video about such an
interesting subject and learn such useful skills along the way.
