question + because + reasons why you say “Yes” (1 – 3 sentence(s)).
E.g: Do you like eating out?
à Absolutely, I really love eating out, especially eating out with my friend because I have a
chance to eat more delicious dishes and have a good time with my best relationships. It is really
happy.
Do you often eat out?
à Yes, of course. I eat out every day because I am a student living far away from home without
my family, so no one cooks for me. That is the reason why I have to go to the restaurant for
my meal.
2. No à Well,/ actually,/ as you know,/ as we know, + give the strength/ advantage of the
topic + BUT + the reason why you say “NO”.
E.g: Do you like eating out?
à Well, actually, eating out can sometimes give use a chance to gather and chat after a long
time, but it costs a lot of money and I am a student, so I do not have a lot of money to do it.
Thus, I do not like eating out. Instead, I like to stay at home and cook the meal.
Do you often eat out?
à As we know, eating out is so convenient for busy people, but I am a student with the limited
budget, so I do not often eat out to save my money.
3. It depends. For example, make a list of cases when you say “YES”, but/ however + make
a list of cases when you say “NO”.
E.g: Do you often eat out?
à Well, it depends. For example, when I want to celebrate a special occasion like birthday
party or anniversary, I often go out for a meal with my friends or my family, but at the end of
the month, I am broke up, I often cook the meal and eat at home to save any coins.
2. Choice questions (with “OR”)
E.g: Do you often eat out or eat at home?
Þ 3 ways to answer this kind of question:
1. give your choice and give the explain the reasons why you choose this option
E.g: Well, I often eat at home instead of going outside because I am a student living far away
from home. I have a limited budget, so I cook the meal and eat at home to save my money.
2. give the weakness/ disadvantage of the option that you don’t choose à draw the
conclusion on the option that you choose
E.g: Well, as you know, eating out is so expensive and it costs a lot of money. And I am a poor
student with the limited budget, so I often eat at home to save my money.
3. It depends. For example, make a list of cases when you choose the first option, but/
however + make a list of different cases when you choose the other option
E.g: Well, actually, it depends. For example, when I come back home late from my school, and
I can’t cook the meal. At that time, I eat out. However, on special occasions like birthday, I
often invite my friends or my cousins/ relatives to eat out. I want them to be with me on this
day.
