Video Recording Project:
1. Choose 1 jazz standard song (Composer - Song Title)
a. You have a freedom to choose any jazz standard song from any languages
and eras
b. Make sure to choose a song within your vocal range
2. Find an instrumental accompaniment (karaoke) audio of the chosen song
a. You will play the instrumental as your accompaniment
3. Recording Procedures:
a. Wear your full set uniform
b. Make sure you are in a quiet and conducive room with proper lighting and
background to record the video
c. Prepare 2 devices:
i. One is for recording the video
ii. The other one is for playing the instrumental accompaniment
(preferable a speaker)
d. Use the landscape mode for video recording
e. Make sure that we can see your torso - up to head
f. Start the video recording by introducing yourself
i. Introduce your name and your grade
ii. Introduce the song and the artist
g. The duration of the song is preferably more than 3 minutes
4. Other Notes:
a. Remember that jazz is about freedom. Feel free to include any improvisation
that fit with the song and your voice
b. You may use any editing software (video and/or audio) as long as you follow
all instructions above, and I can hear your voice clearly

Scoring:
● [60%] The clarity of your singing (singing technique)
● [15%] Lyrics memorization
● [10%] Improvisation aspects
● [15%] Recording procedures (section 3)
You may start working on this project on April 1st and submit the video on April 14th.
Make sure to submit the video on time. Any late submission will receive grade deduction.
