serve as a rich source of knowledge and learning that they can use for
collaborative learning and for them to recognize their own potential.

notes here:
As many parents and teachers can attest, teaching our youngest
children online is a challenging task. Grade 1 students typically require a
lot of mobility and exploration, which are things that they can't really do
remotely, especially if they must sit and gaze at a screen. Before the class
began, I was curious about how the students would behave throughout
their teacher's discussion, whether they would be attentive or not. Are
they concentrated or distracted? To be honest, I was astounded by their
eagerness to participate in class discussion and activities despite their S
current situation. So, I asked myself, how can the teacher make this
happen? I’m sure there are lots of preparations and meetings took place. Y

teachers perceive their learners' parents as partners. Most children at this
age are unable to join into an online class without assistance; but, after
they have mastered Zoom or Google Meet, many may learn to switch
their camera on and off as well as mute themselves. Children who receive
this type of support are more likely to succeed in remote learning.

Description of Teaching Strategies:

The teacher applied the Learner-centered approach. They have an

interactive online classroom where the kids were given opportunities to
share their thoughts and interact with their teacher and fellow
classmates. In addition, during the synchronous class, the teacher used
colorful images/ graphics to catch the attention of the students.

Description of Learning Activities:

COVID-19 limits the number of activities that the learners can perform
together with their classmates. For the introductory activity, the kids
participated in the Picture Identification activity, while for the
developmental activity, the kids were asked to give examples of
person, animal, things, and events. Lasty, for the concluding activity,
the teacher ask question to wrapped-up their lesson and gave one last
activity wherein the kids categorized the concepts that were
presented.

Description of Learner’s Participation (proportion of learners who

participated and quality of participation):

The kids were enthusiastic in participating during discussion. There were

times when they all talked simultaneously, but the teacher effectively
restored order in the online classroom without becoming irritated with
any of the kids. Nevertheless, the children consistently provided correct
answers. If any of them did not get the answer right away, the teacher
patiently helped them until they did.

notes here: must first get to know your learners before giving/presenting your
lessons. You should explain your objectives so that your learners would
actively and attentively participate in the class discussion. It is important
to provide motivation at the start of your class to capture their attention
for the whole duration of the course. However, as a teacher, you must
also develop the learning environment. You must specify what you want
to do to create a positive learning environment for the subject matter, as
well as describe the pedagogical cycle of teaching and learning strategies
that must be executed to reach your objectives.

2. How do the learners participate in the learning activities?

When the kids were reciting, they switched on their cameras, and
then, for the most part, they turned them off after speaking. However,
based on their responses, one may conclude that the kids were
attentive to the class, and they were all willing to participate in the
class discussion. They enjoy expressing themselves.

3. What instructional materials are employed?

The teacher used Google Meet as her virtual platform to present her
PowerPoint presentation and conduct classes during this distance
learning. Their synchronous classes were supported by self-learning
modules and learning activity sheets, which the kids will answer
following their online classes.

4. How does the teacher assess the learning in the lesson? Is she
assessing the process or the product?
The teacher assessed the pupils' learning using exercises in which
they provided real-life examples of things they had seen or
experienced. This allows her to determine whether or not the children
truly understood the lesson and provided insights into the module and
activity sheet.

5. What reasons does the teacher give in having such learning activities?
The teacher chose those activities to obtain the lesson objectives. The
learners will waste time on activities, assignments, and assessments
that do not lead to the desired goals if learning objectives and
learning activities/assessments are not aligned.
