PERSONAL LETTER

Personal letter is a letter that is personally written and sent by a person to a person or to a certain
institution or organization

There are two types of personal letter:

 From person to person

 From person to an institution or organization (business letter)

 Acceptance letter

 Application letter

 Complain letter

 Financial hardship letter

Form of a personal letter:

 Date : month, day, year (America)

Day, month, year (British)

 Name, address, city and ZIP code (name of the recipient)

 Salutation (The greeting usually starts with the word Dear and followed by the name of
recipient ex: Dear Nick, Dear mom)

 Introduction (This is the opening of the letter. It may include greeting)

 Body (This is the main part of the letter. The writer wants to tell the recipient )

 Closure (this part indicates the letter is going to an end. The writer may ask the recipient to
reply here)

 Complimentary close / salam penutup (yours sincerely, best regards, Love)

 Signature
