Module 1 The Atmosphere and its Characteristics and Processes

Lessons 1-4 Acid Rain and Eutrophication, Clouds, Greenhouse Effect and Global
Warming, and Atmospheric Optical Phenomena

Lesson Objectives At the end of this module the students will be able to:

1. Explain the causes, effect and impact of acid rain and


eutrophication.
2. Describe and distinguish clouds and its formation.
3. Discuss scientifically the Greenhouse Effect and Global
Warming and its impact
4. Identify the different atmospheric optical phenomena; its
process of occurrence and relative location

Overview/Introduction This module delves on the science behind the existence of our
atmosphere. Particularly, it also discusses and explain the different
processes and occurrences in the atmosphere.
