INTRODUCTION

PLUMBING SYSTEM
• Plumbing system is the science of installing,
repairing and servicing the pipes.
• The aim of the plumbing system is to
collect, transport and distribute water and
to remove liquid and human waste. 
• Plumbing system comprises of pipes, traps,
building sewers and other devices within
and outside the house, which distributes
water into different parts of the house.

• Municipality is responsible for supplying
water from reservoir to street mains
through 2 systems:

•Service Reservoir

• The service pipe connects the main in the
street to the consumer's premises.

• Service pipe comprises of communication
and supply pipes.
• Communication pipes carry water between
the street mains and the boundary of
private property.
• Supply pipes run from the boundary of the
property upto inside of the property.
• Communication pipe is laid and maintained
by the local authority at owner’s cost.
• Supply pipe is laid by owner at their cost.
