AIX / UNIX Administrator

Optomi, in partnership with an industry leader for parts manufacturing and distribution, is seeking an AIX /
UNIX Administrator for their Smyrna, GA location. The AIX / UNIX Administrator will be responsible for the
day-to-day operations and maintenance of the Shared Services AIX/UNIX/Linux servers and
infrastructure systems. He / She will carry out responsibilities in some or all of the following technical
areas: Server maintenance, System upgrades and procurement, infrastructure design and layout,
Disaster Recovery design and implementation, OS installation and maintenance, and Server hardening.

 3+ years administrative experience with AIX (5.x, 6.1, 7.1) on enterprise hardware
 1+ years administrative experience in Linux (Redhat 5+, CentOS)
 2+ years experience in shell scripting (korn/bash)
 2+ years experience in one other scripting language:  Perl, PHP, PowerShell
 Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
 Team Player

Roles & Responsibilities:

 Administrator of AIX servers hosting Shared Services applications
 Administer the IBM HMC connected to all AIX systems
 IBM LPAR Management with PowerVM
 Produce metric reports and capacity planning reports as needed to support the Unix environment
activities
 Secondary administrator of various Redhat/CentOS servers in the environment
 Assist in planning installation and Disaster Recovery for hosted applications
 Configure, update and operate monitoring of Data Center operations, including application and
hardware environmental monitoring.
 Ensure all Unix/Linux based servers are adhering to change control and standard policies
 Working with customers both internal and external to troubleshoot incidents
 Maintaining documentation and diagrams regarding the Unix/Linux environments
 Assist with security architecture and monitoring
 Work in on-call rotation for 24x7x365 support.
 Nagios monitoring /Cacti / Ganglia experience

Qualifications:
 3+ years administrative experience with AIX (5.x, 6.1, 7.1) on enterprise hardware
 1+ years administrative experience in Linux (Redhat 5+, Centos)
 2+ years experience in shell scripting (korn/bash)
 2+ years experience in one other scripting language:  Perl, PHP, PowerShell
 Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
 Must be a team player
 Puppet or Chef experience
 NetApp NAS/SAN experience
 Experience with Oracle databases on AIX
 IBM, Linux, or hardware certifications are a plus
